Yeah, I've been sending letters to production companies for months. Rejection letters only. I'd like some help. Advice, mainly and past experiences would be cool too.

You need to obtain a list that tells you which companies accept, don't accept or consider from new writers.  It saves you tons of time and energy.  Not to mention stamps, ink, brads, locks, cover pages and paper.

Couple of things -

You might be aiming too high by going with production companies off the bat. Try attaching talent first - either actors or a director, or both. Second, IMDB pro is invaluable because it will provide you with the e-mail contacts you need to reach the talent and directors, and, eventually, the production companies.

After that, I think what goes into a query letter is opinion. I use a bit about the script (such and such meets so and so movie, the setting, etc.) I list the attachments, I give the logline, and then I give four (good) quotes from coverage. No synopsis.
