I was wondering if there are any generic contracts for a writer to give permission to a producer for a short and if so where can I get one.
It may be worthwhile having a contracts section on SS ?????
If I cant find one suitable, I will probably create my own outlining the following:- Script Name. / Date Between parties A and B. Script ownership remains with myself. Script is provided for free. Sole Writers credit goes to me. Producer mails me a high quality disk of the final product for promotional purposes. Maybe an expiry date for the agreed use of the script.
Not sure if there is anything else I should include, so I rely on the experience of the guys on SS.
Since i have had no response to this thread does anyone have any contractual agreement with a production company that covers the above that they would be so kind to email to me. (blanked out of course)
Would an interested producer usually provide the written agreement ?
Also is there any standard Non-Disclosure agreements available anywhere as I want someone to review a work in progress though dont want the idea getting out there to soon.
Sorry I am new to all this and want to cover my arse.

Hey Alex,
In my experience, if someone's interested in your work... They will provide you with a contract. You (and agent or lawyer) review it. Make any revisions you want in there and send it back. Keep playing that back and forth until you're both happy. Be reasonable, but don't sacrifice any rights you're uncomfortable giving away.
Good luck.
