I could say this or that, but who cares what I think. What I will do is recommend you watch this film. Anything with Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley in it can't be bad.

I was gonna watch this around New Year but put it off.
Brad Anderson is a pretty good director. He did an episode of Masters of Horror around 2005, which I thought of today for no reason
I'll check it out soon.

I found very few flaws with the film. Maybe a couple of instances where the continuity was a little off. Aside from that it was well written, shot, acted, directed and edited. The whole cast was the best of British. Mel Gibson is one of the producers too.

There's a much better film called Lunacy from 2005 that uses the same story. It's quite arty, but never gets dull.

I never saw that movie as well. I was never really too fond of Jan Svankmajer's films, the stop motion animation never really worked for me.
Anyway reading the synopsis for that movie reminded me of a Japanese movie I saw years ago. It's called Dogra Magra, don't remember too much but it was quite muddled. By famous Japanese director Toshio Matsumoto (his movie Shura is quite good).

I really liked The Machinist and but thought Transibberian was a bit of a let down. May check this out. I always find it disconcerting when a film with such big names like this and a solid director behind the camera can just go under your radar without you even realizing its existence. Demonstrates the sheer volume of content out there vying for our attention.
