The opening scene I had in mind was a series of shots cutting back and forth from a wrestling tournament to a father racing to get there to see his son wrestle. During the shots I wanted a O.S. from the coach getting the team pumped up and ready for the big tournament.
My question is how to format the series of shots and include the O.S. dialogue at specific shots.
SERIES OF SHOTS INT. LOCKER ROOM - NIGHT Coach We have been waiting all year for this men.
EXT. HIGHWAY - NIGHT KIRK's father races through traffic. COACH (O.S) All the blood, sweat and tears comes down to tonight.
INT. GYMNASIUM - NIGHT Wrestlers warm-up on the mats in the open gym. Jump ropes slap the floor as the team drills with partners to get a sweat going. COACH (O.S) Two-a-days, gassers, 6am practice....
EXT. HIGHWAY - NIGHT Kirk's father cuts off another driver. COACH (O.S.) Three-a-days, injuries and cutting weight...
INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT Kirk sits in the darkness, headphones blaring, intensely focused. COACH (O.S.) to get right here, right now.
This goes on for the entirety of the coach's speech and ends when KIRK pins his opponent. As the referee slams his hand down, his father gets in a fatal car crash.
That's a basic idea I had and wondered how other people have done it. Thanks in advance.
