Alec,
Wow!  One of the best written features I've read on SS.  To be honest, I was drawn to it because I'm a bit of a Puccini fan. (My favorite, Turandot).  I remember a screen writing tip:  Write what you know.  Well, nicely done.  No mistaking your opera knowledge, here.
So impressed with the manner in which you weaved Tito's story around the business of opera.  The story
was interesting and easy to follow even for a reader who might not be an opera fan.
Humor, sex, twists and turns.  Many wonderful moments of Tito shining through. You fooled me several times. Thought for sure Gina was going to be Anna.  Never expected the father to be alive.
The story could be an opera in itself.  Loved the Melodramatic ending.  Perhaps you intended that.
I believe even a non opera enthusiast would enjoy this film.   Really Great Stuff!
