You know sometimes I wonder why I like zombie movies so much. This was pretty good, taking the extremes of zombies and showing us how truly pathetic they are. And yet I still watch them. If you develop it a bit more you could have a good full length zombie spoof. |

Uh... uh... uh... okay...
Anywho, thanks to R.E. for his actual comments concerning the actual topic. As far as turning it into an actual, full-length script, I just don't think it would work too well. For example, just look at Sandy Collora's short film "Batman: Dead End." While it is wickedly cool and kicks major A** (Batman fights both Aliens and Predators), as a full lenght film it would probably suck simply because of a lack of plot. I think the same goes for my script in that I do not think it would be able to translate into a 90 minute feature film... I think it would just feel stretched out with too much filler.
Anyway, just my thoughts... |

UPDATE: Just sent in a revised copy of the script which is a bit longer and rounds out the rough edges a bit. Enjoy! |

I don't know if this made a whole lot of sense to me, SyCo, but I think see where you were going. There were parts I feel just as I become intrigued with one part of what's happening, we're cutting away to a different scene. I feel pulled out of it just as I start to get going... Granted I know the idea is to spoof as much as possible in one movie, it's a bit distracting to start getting into a scene and then suddenly be plunked down elsewhere. Maybe it added somewhat to the confusion. I guess this is the idea? And you say Jesse (around Cilian's age) but you don't say how old Cilian is, so the "young" term is kind of vague for me. You forgot to designate when you go back to Cilian's office after the phone call cuts off (just a minor technical note) and I'm not sure I get the weird time lapse between Cilian hitting the blockade of marines and him taking off back toward his house. LOL, ending though... OT: I do like the actual actor quite a bit. |

How did the script you read end?
You may have read the outdated one. I sent in an updated (and what I feel is a more coherent) script. |

It was good, not great but good, I love Zombie films, especially ones where characters survive at the end, but I loved the way that Cillian finds the gun then, just gets attacked. |

SyCo, I think it's the one that's up right now. I didn't read this that long ago. Just as we are about to fade to black, Cilian is attacked by the undead even though the sun is up? He thinks he's okay and then "Oh fu-"?
That's the one. |

No, the re-write seems not to be up yet. The newer (is that a word?) rendition keeps the ending intact, though there is a new, more downbeat conclusion. Also, there is more character involvement as well as a couple of neat little additions. |

As much as I love zombies, this is a great script. I like it. I see that your character JAMES GUNN has the same name was James Gunn, the guy who wrote the Dawn of the Dead remake. Coicidence or were you just using his name for fun? Lol either way I like the script still. |

i really liked this script. Just my opinion, though. I thought it was great, though not the BEST on here. I also agree with the writer that it would not be a very wise decision to stretch it out. I loved it this way, but 90 minute WOULD be a little over the top, I believe. |

Holy cr**! People are responding to my two year old script!
Thanks for the comments. I'm a fan of the script... but the filmed version that I made over a year ago is f'ing abysmal... and hence will never be seen by anyone unless you find me drunk and ask. It is horrible on a technical side as well as the acting side. It is just friggin' awful... as far as horror cinema goes, anyway. It is actually really F**king funny. You also see the acting chops of one Graham Paschall... and it explains exactly why I have never appeared in any of my own filmed stuff since then.
Great script, horribly filmed by myself. But, hey, it was a learning experience and I now feel I am much better at filmmaking in general.
Thanks for the comments!
Cheers. |

Pretty good script. If you were going for a spoof, you didn't get it. If you were going for a good short zombie script, you got that. The only thing you really spoofed were the names, I think. |
