Steex,

Took a quick glance at this. There lines have 1.5 to 2x (double space). Is this standard for this series?

Not familiar with the series, but I've heard of it. I've give this a looksie when I have time.

Cheers,

RB

I used the HIMYM format on Final Draft 8.
I've only found a few of the scripts online, but they all are the same format.

I'm not familiar with the characters of this show so I can't comment if you've captured the voice or not. However, I did get a sense of the characters and I liked the story overall, and I might even check out the show based on what I've read here.

I assume this is a sitcom comedy, but it feels a tad long at 40 pages. Most sitcom comedies I know are 35 pages tops. Maybe 40 pages is norm for HIMYM?

This is a talky script so maybe the shooting will go fast, but your Act breaks are uneven. You're teaser/opening ends at page 9. Then Act 2 ends in page 23. Act 3 doesn't end until page 39. So that's a 9 - 14 - 16 split. Does HIMYM normally have a teaser then it cuts to opening credits? (like THe Office). If so, I'd work on cutting the teaser/opening to within 5 pages.

In general, I like the story. Lots of side stories but you carried them well til the end with a shot of one of my fave movies (Falcor!).

Hey cooky, thanks for the read and comment.
I'm glad you liked it.
It's a pretty good show.

I tried to do it as accurately as possible.
I own all the seasons on dvd, so I went through them and timed the act breaks.
Sometimes they do a teaser, other times they combine the teaser and Act 1together.
I tried to stay as close to the format as possible, but for the most part, every episode was different.

Also, every Act is different lengths, seemed odd to me.
They aren't even close to the same lengths.
And most episodes ran between 20:00 and 21:45.
So, it being double spaced and approximately a page equaling 30secs or so, 40 pages would be about 20 minutes.

Thanks again!
