I can't think of one at the top of my head, but it seems to me you can go at least two ways. You can make the funny stuff really really dark or you can make fun of the horror itself like Zombieland for example.

I'm sure there are some people out there that can give excellent examples. I am not one of them. I just had a free moment to type.  :)

Maybe this'll help.

Good luck.  U can do it!

Edit:  I just thought of an idea.  After a meteor lands in the woods. The radiation causes ticks to go crazy and become flesh eating...flesh eaters.  But really smart ones.  The ticks band together and attack a group of hikers.   In the end, it turns out the meteor's not really a meteor.  It's an egg.  And it hatches a giant space tick.

You can call it "Ticked".

Or not...

It's probably already been done.

It's not ten minutes, but Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer comes to mind when it comes to comedy/horror.

Thanks guys and girls ...I'll check the link and that script out. It's hard to write within someone else's parameters. Well, for me....

One of my fave writers on these boards, who sadly no longer visits, wrote this...

If I had the means, I would film it. Piss myself everytime I read it. It's an awesome little spoof on those ghost hunter shows...

I'm afraid I don't know any short horror/comedy's that would help you. As for features...

Shaun of The Dead comes instantly to mind but it would all depend on what type of funny you mean? Is it full on spoof funny like Scary Movie or maybe even more family oriented like Gremlins or Ghostbusters?

I would say you couldn't go wrong with the old classic The Evil Dead.

Good luck with it, Dena.
