Out of curiosity I was wondering who's the most prolific writer on this site? Who's got the most features and who's got the most shorts. Has anyone ever done a specific count?

SS usually doesn't promote competition among members. There are certainly some writers who are better than others, but I've never seen people make a habit of creating competition like this. If they did, I doubt SS would have as many members as they do :).

I was just curious about the "facts".  And the fact is there's one member on this site that has the most features and one member who has the most shorts.  It's that simple.

In that case, I don't think anyone's done a full count. Probably never felt the need for it :).

Not sure about Features, but I think Helio has the most Shorts.

Provided they are all still up, I am pretty sure he had in excess of 50.

Hit and miss, for sure -- much like his English, sometimes -- but he is a unique storyteller, and much of his work was quite good for those who could overlook minor flaws in language.

I think you misunderstand - it's easy to fling out a heap of work - the OWC shows we can all write a short in a week, but quality is a different thing.

A writer re-writes, so the amount of finished product may be less, but the writing (and re-writing) that went in to it may well be more.

Practice makes perfect. Show me a writer with 30 features under his/her belt and I'll show you a writer who's gotten better with every script he/her has written. So quantity does matter.

Quantity eventually promotes quality.  We can only hope.

Dena doesn't write as fast these days. Ha ha....those were the diaper days my friend! Now  I find myself judging my writing so much, I can barely get a script finished! Ack!

I had two other features that used to be on the site, but I had to pull them when they went into development.  To channel Spinal Tap, "My features go to 11."  :)

Hmm.  As a stats analyst guy in sports, I find this thread pretty interesting.

Although, I am a firm believer in quality over quantity.  :-)  (I'm not just saying that because I'm not on the list, either.  If I hadn't changed my e-mail address in '09, I'd be in between Michael Orobko and Simon Colligan.)

Now that I'm done with the feature I was working on, (can't submit because I don't have the rights), I'm hoping to have some more shorts done by end of summer.

It's a great feeling to finish a feature, but I still love knocking a story out in a day or two.

That's odd, Don. I've done a rough count of my stuff from memory and it comes to about 15 in total that I know about. Six features and the rest are shorts.

Oh, and rc? Aussies have the longest ones. Fairly common knowledge that... ;D

The denim cutoffs are specialy made in Australia to accommodate most of us. They have an inner belt section, where you lift and wrap your tockley. It's quite comfy, lol

Actually, Bert, no.  I did a listing of top 14 works (features and shorts).  Then I went back to look for top number of features and then after Wesley, I cherry picked listing anyone who had commented on the thread who I though would want to know how many scripts they have on the site, e.g., you, Pia, Dena

Also, this doesn't include all time number of works. I delete scripts when asked or if someone has left or been removed from  the discussion board.

Helio is quite prolific.  In fact, after churning out three to five scripts for OWCs we enacted the "Helio" rule limiting to one or two entries, tho I allow more than one if you can 'sneak' it by me.

As for this fan-fic...

I just opened up the guy's script and glanced over it.

Maybe, just maybe, if it wasn't for the formatting, I would try to read some of it, despite the long-ass page count.

I like a really good fan-fic, but it's gotta be done right.

As for the page count, yeah, it's a lot.

The longest script I ever wrote was 140 pages.

I just read Takes Two by Shawn and kind of regret that I asked where I could find his scripts.    ;D :P

haha! Yes I remember that alien script! I have a lot of respect for someone who can actually manage to fill that many pages, bullshit or not, I struggle with 120!

While the formatting was definitely wrong, I have to wonder if that script was a 450 page first draft.  My first drafts are usually very long as a lot of it is free flowing nonsense.  One of my first drafts weighed in at about 180 pages.  I got it down to about 100 before submitting it.

I joined on May 20th 2006, that's over 7 years ago and have only submitted 2 features and 16 shorts.

I do have a few shorts not posted here and also a couple of features too that aren't here...maybe I should start posting again?  I don't know if I can take another beating from Jeff though lol.

Well, I have toned down my writing quite a bit. Though, I do write a new feature every month (or every 2 weeks depending on if I'm in the zone) I upload only what I think people would want to read.

I just finished a 115 page fantasy script based on a book I wrote but never published.

Finished off a draft of Leaper.

Finalized a fan fiction script clocking in at 155 pages for Batman.

Finished off a 16 episode Batman fan-fic series.

An 8 episode crime noir series called Robert Dows.

A Robert Dows feature script.

I remember that OWC...

I thumbed through a few of these old scripts eariler when it was posted. Some of them, I like, some not so much. ;D

All, however were stepping stones to where I am now so I don't regret them.

What's the script with the most views on SS?  I'm bettin' on Dreamscale's "Fade to White"  22, 517 views.

Views don't mean that a script has been read, Silverback.  It just means that someone visited the thread.
