Though earth and man are gone, I thought the cube would last forever.
I WAS WRONG.

Don't bring back Will Smith because it gives him an excuse to put out a record or single and I don't think I can take anymore of him as a (And I say this loosely) recording artist.

Men in Black does have some future franchise potential. More so than a lot of movies do, anyway. The trick will be creating a script to utilize the universe they've created in some way that they haven't done already. I like the premise of the series as it is right in line with James Bond and my own series, The Fempiror Chronicles (plug!).

If they make another Men In Black movie, it MUST have Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.  Those two are the buddies who make it cool.  But I want to see them go to another planet for a change.  Every story that has aliens should eventually get to a part that takes place on another planet.

The problem with the sequel (IMHO) is that they went more for laughs and less on the science fiction.  If they stuck with the formula they used in the first movie, they'd be fine.  Getting rid of Will Smith would be a good idea, too.

I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of MIB3 as long as Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones were in it, as Alan said.

I too think it needs to go back to it's sci-fi roots and would be fun to see them on another planet. Hadn't thought of that before till Mr Holman mentioned it. I think ditch agent F or K, that little talking dog, even though he was cute, I think MIB2 was too gimicky and needs more of the formula of the orignal.

I don't mind Will Smith as a "recordiong artist" either actually. I think the the tune to MIB still rocks...

Will Smith should OF COURSE sing a new song for it.

Will Smith worked well against Tommy Lee Jones' cold straight man act.  He could be replaced with practically anyone.  Get rid of him and Frank the Pug.

Get rid of...the Pug

You would now abandon your favorite breed?  After they've been so good to you, too...

Pugs were never my breed, damn you!  I prefer big dogs, not bear grenades!

Neither Will Smith nor the MIB crew came up with that music.  It's from the 80's. Watch the movie "Big." It's in there. Don't know the title.

Having the original actors reprise the J and K roles would be good, but as other movies have proven, as long as strong actors replace them, the movie can stand on its script. The MIB would not go to another planet. It's not within their job decsription or jurisdiction. They are the alien PD of Earth, an are supposed to make sure its all kept in line that way it's supposed to. Going to another planet would, IMO, be outside the boundaries of the MIB universe.

The Pug can return. He's an informant. The smoking creatures have no real use that I can see beyond comedy relief, and the tone of the script provides that. They take it over the top.

They need an alien-based mission to complete on earth as they had in the first movie. Something horrible erupts and J and K go to fix it. In fact, their jurisdiction may be limited to the United States with foreign powers having their own MIB agencies, ruling out even the possibility of going abroad. But the US is a pretty big country, so they can chase the little buggers all over the place.

If they return to the spirit of the MIB universe, it'll be fine. Otherwise, it won't work because they broke the rules. Ironically, many complain about the newer Bond films because of their gimmicks.

It has to take place on this planet.  The whole point of the MIB is to make sure that alien life is kept a secret.

Kay: There's always an Arquillian Battle Cruiser, or a Korilian Death Ray, or an intergalactic plague that is about to wipe out all life on this miserable planet. The only way these people can get on with their happy lives is that they "do not know about it!"

See?

.......Or maybe they could be kidnapped by the aliens and their mission is to get back to earth as they know without them it will be eradicated? I dunno, I'm clutching at straws now. I still think it would be cool to see the action take place somewhere else even if it did mean breaking the rules of the movie. Honestly, no offense here, but everything always happens in America in the movies!

They need to hook up with Doc Brown and use the Delorean for international time travel and protection of the planet.... they could uncover all the secret alien generations on the earth... not sure why though. Hmmm, haven't thought this one out either, lol!

PS - I think the MIB tune is used from the 80's song "forget me not" or something like that, but I really liked the version that Will did. I think he's still jiggy with it, without the need for all the cursing.
