Didn't read the script, but even so, I'm not expecting this to have a great story or anything. I just want to see it for the amazing special effects. Everything else is secondary.

I really enjoyed The Day After Tomorrow.

I'll be seeing THE ROAD instead. While I doubt I'll read the book again, it raised a lot of questions and the movie looks like it will answer most of them.

Wow. What a trailer. I only wish I hadn't seen it now so I could experience it for the first time on the big screen. It'll look awesome.

I'll be seeing both. While 2012 will no doubt look spectacular, I think The Road will be a much better movie - and what an awesome cast it's got.

Looks good for what it is. Attempting to intellectualise this film is futile - it's designed to entertain and tap into the long held fear that the world is coming to an end - "Simples!".

I agree that 'The Road' looks very promising.

What good are choices if they're all bad?

Anybody else here think that the visuals looks really sub-par, even compared to The Day After Tomorrow?

And, Independence Day. While Day 1 was relatively enjoyable, the movie just kept getting worse and worse and worse. My opinion, though. =)

EDIT: Those of you who have read the script, does John Cusack get rained on in this? Please say he does.

I was disappointed in the script, but like the subject matter and will go see it regardless. I will be prepaired not to love it so who knows, I might actually be pleasantly surprised.

I love the subject matter too.

It just seems that EVERYTHING happens in this movie, and John's family doesn't even get scratched.

That's how I felt with THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW. It looked really cold, but every one was fine wearing minimal clothing. It annoyed me. And the wolves! Don't even get me started!
