I'll wait to see what others have to say. Mainly to hear if the action is worth it, because I'm pretty sure the story itself will be pretty lame (the Noah's Ark angle). |

Yeah, the story sucks major ass - but I guess it'll look good so that's always something. |

It had its moments. But it was never anything special. |

I think it looks pretty good, myself. I have no pre-knowledge of the story to know it's state of suck-assness, so I'll be a pilgrim all the way. I think the premise is very interesting, not to mention the fact that I sometimes wonder if this interpretation of the Mayan calendar might not be a good idea for the planet in general . . . . |

I wrote a review of the script some time ago...
Even if it's not brilliant, the special effects might help make it into something very watchable... like the "global warming" one a few years back. Very cliche story, but the visuals made me watch it a couple of times. Wish I could remember the title... |

Definitely going to see this movie for the visuals. The story I have no care for, so Roland can take my money because he creates movies that have me at great special effects.
Everything in the trailer looks awesome.

I read some of the script, it's pretty boring for the most part. Course, that's just the beginning. Couldn't make it through the first 6 pages |
| Isle 10- A series I'm currently writing with my friend Adam and it will go into production soon. Think The Office meets 10 Items or Less.

I, on the other hand, am a glutton for punishment and read the whole thing. The first six pages were the best part. |

Didn't read the script, but even so, I'm not expecting this to have a great story or anything. I just want to see it for the amazing special effects. Everything else is secondary.
I really enjoyed The Day After Tomorrow. |

I'll be seeing THE ROAD instead. While I doubt I'll read the book again, it raised a lot of questions and the movie looks like it will answer most of them. |

Wow. What a trailer. I only wish I hadn't seen it now so I could experience it for the first time on the big screen. It'll look awesome. |

I'll be seeing both. While 2012 will no doubt look spectacular, I think The Road will be a much better movie - and what an awesome cast it's got. |

Looks good for what it is. Attempting to intellectualise this film is futile - it's designed to entertain and tap into the long held fear that the world is coming to an end - "Simples!". I agree that 'The Road' looks very promising. Andrew |

Anybody else here think that the visuals looks really sub-par, even compared to The Day After Tomorrow?
And, Independence Day. While Day 1 was relatively enjoyable, the movie just kept getting worse and worse and worse. My opinion, though. =)
EDIT: Those of you who have read the script, does John Cusack get rained on in this? Please say he does. |

I was disappointed in the script, but like the subject matter and will go see it regardless. I will be prepaired not to love it so who knows, I might actually be pleasantly surprised. |

I love the subject matter too.
It just seems that EVERYTHING happens in this movie, and John's family doesn't even get scratched.
That's how I felt with THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW. It looked really cold, but every one was fine wearing minimal clothing. It annoyed me. And the wolves! Don't even get me started! |
