Which is your favourite group/singers? If you haven't heard any of the songs, possibly you could goto youtube.com and search. I wanted to add some more but there just wasn't enough space.
If you like any other, then post it here! 80s only!
I don't know. I have a fondness for We Have All The Time I The World sung by Louis Armstrong for On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Goldeneye with Tina Turner is also a great one. I just listen to my disc with all of them and wnjoy the moments. They're all great songs...well The Man With The Golden Gun is a little odd...
As for the 80's, you left out Billy Joel and Oingo Boingo. Sorry, dude, they top everyone on your list. I lived through the 80's. I've never heard of Simply Red, but I've heard all the other ones. Still...Billy Joel and Oingo Boingo. Elton John also rocks, IMHO.
I love the 80's! It's my favourite music and movie era! For me, songs like "Oh Yeah" by Yello, "Get out of my dreams, get into my car" by Billy Ocean and "Weird Science" by Oingo Boingo are the best. They sort of define that decade for me
Didn't vote, sorry. Not really a fan of anyone on that list.
Ha! Men Without Hats! Almost forgot about them. Thanks for reminding me, Breanne. Safety Dance rules. Ozzy and Priest rule as well. Also, it was in the 80's when metal (especially thrash metal) really started to get big, namely bands like Slayer, Anthrax, and as Hero mentioned, Metallica and Megadeth (all of which made up the Big Four of Thrash). Ozzy and Priest really paved the way for those guys. Perhaps they weren't the biggest part of the 80's music scene but I thought I'd give some names just the same.
I almost put Peter Gabriel on my list as well, but started thinking about how long his career has spanned, from his work with Genesis all the way through to today. Shock the Monkey is still one of the creepiest videos I have ever seen.
Speaking of videos, does anyone remember the Herbie Hancock video with the "robots" playing synthesizers and what not? Lionel Richie's "Dancing on the Ceiling"? Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" with Christie Brinkley?
Abra-abracadabra. It's gonna reach out and grab ya.
Yes, despite my age of 26 years, I was blessed with a brother who is 12 years older and remember quite a bit of this stuff.
And I'll bet dollars to donuts that Andy has seen License to Drive on a few occassions.
