It has nothing to do with Sandra running it. I would even have offered to give running it a try, but I seriously don't think I will have the time. I have also taken part in two of these so I'm not going to feel guilty about not being part this time.

I would suggest to all others here though to give it a try. Specially all you new members.

No one should feel guilty. Time is probably the biggest factor for everyone. My reasoning for trying to keep this running (although I won't be playing) is to keep everyone who might be falling into writing lapses-- to keep them writing.

These games keep you active and working. You might sit down feeling like you have nothing and then find out just how much you have after all.

I think maybe people need to know a schedule for when this will happen.

If there are enough people signed up by the Ides of March, which is an auspicious time, it can be started and it would run through April and probably be done by the time May flowers.

And for those of you who haven't the foggiest idea what I'm talking about:

March 15th start
End around the first week in May
Of which you're committing to about 8-16 hours of time. Enough to write three 5 page scenes.

So get your characters in now and we can start right away.

We're in difficult times. Some of you are preparing for exams even now. Some have heavy duty work and family commitments. Where the hell are we to find the time?

Well, the good news is it's possible, but time isn't always the #1 factor, (although the second factor might be considered #1A as far as reasons go for stalling on a personal commitment to "write more, write faster, write better").

The 1A factor might be simply not having enough energy left after everything else is taken care of. This is an issue that we can't avoid and every day is a little bit different in that regard, but let's pretend we're all loaded with vitality every single waking moment. Zzzzzzz. OH! sorry! I must have drifted off.

Seriously, if we can somehow just say that we're going to try and pull off something here, and God only knows what it might be, but if we can try and pull something off and have some fun in the meantime, don't you think that would be amazingly fantasticulously grandacular!?

It would! So...

If you even think, in the smallest tiny cavity of your tiniest neurotransmitters, that you might like to go for the gusto, let it all hang out and have some fun...

Then take off and make it happen. Write yourself an interesting character and enjoy yourself without feeling that "no you can't". Yes, you can!

I gotta go now and tend to the Captain. I think he's having a bit of a nervous breakdown or something. But don't worry. He always comes around after a couple placebos and a pitcher or two of beer. I'll fix him up pronto. Your lives are safe in his hands. Don't worry.

You have 7 days.  One more week to come up with the characters or the game gets it.  And don't try to bring the police into this.  If I catch drift of any coppers sniffing around then BANG! Got it!

Anybody out there? We currently have two players: TommyP and Mr. Blonde. We need six more to make this game happen.

Game for the game? What's holding you back? Write yourself a character and be prepared for fun.

The will to keep you all awake in desire:

Michael's given a week's worth of time to get your character bios done on this.

I can't think of anything better than this for your personal writing development. If you're sitting on the fence right now, just know that in life, these kinds of opportunities are hard to come by.

Just think, all of these people dedicating their time for a purpose and they have something in common with you. They love to write about life.

What do you have to lose? This is free. Really. All you have is time. Time that likely as not, you think you don't have, but if you start searching in the corners, you'll probably find some-- somewhere, who knows where, but somewhere... Think of all the time you might spend on Facebook and "whatnot". "Whatnot" is dangerous, so be careful.

Come and give it a shot, my friends. And then be the one to tell the tale of how you blazed a trail for yourself and maybe even a few others as well.

Ha, just found this thread...didn't have a clue it was here.

You know I always like to take part in these, but I'm going to be moving up to Seattle...most likely next week, and I can't get started in this until I am all moved, which wouldn't be until the end of March.

Sorry guys...

Well, I would be happy to see the deadline extended for getting characters together. Especially if people are having difficulty for whatever reason. The end of March isn't that far off really. Look how fast time goes. None of us can keep up with it. And isn't The Game of Life always "hurry up and wait"?

Let's all try and be patient and see how many people are interested, but need a bit more time to get organized.

Sometimes all we need is interest and you've got it Jeff; so hopefully you can be a part of this.

Up to you Sandra.  If you want to extend the deadline to the end of March - go for it. But people should get their characters in because there's stuff to prepare before the game begins.

If we consider Jeff as "maybe game" for after he moves, then that means we have three people and only need five more excited whirlwinds.

I'd like to request that people come forward with their character bios in the next week. Just sit yourself down and write like a maniac for a half an hour. You can do that. Pretend you'll die if you don't or something like that.

If we don't actually get underway until April, you've got the Easter weekend to look forward to and you might have someone invite you to dinner and you can get some needed R & R and consequently excellent brainstorming power ahead of you.

Like Michael has stated though--

There are details that are involved in the set-up and he's the one dealing with this evil time villain; so please...

If you can manage it and help us out here:

Hammer out your character bio. Post it here. And be proud that you're jumping on board.

Time is passing by and unfortunately there appears to be very little interest in writing up some brief character bios so that Michael can set this up.

Very sad to see, but this opportunity for you might end up in the grave.

A few more nudges I shall give and that is all.

It's fair to say that making an extension, (for the sake of a positive endeavor) in order for you to post a brief character bio is a worthy ideal.

A little bit of thinking and maybe an hour or two of your time is all that's required. (Unless you're crazy like me and spend days and weeks on it).

I think that this Friday though is enough. If no interest arises by then, we'll have to say that Killer is dead for now.
