Oh my God. What is so wrong in the world that we are continually punished for sins we don't even know we're committing? God, I apologize..for anything and everything, just please stop the madness and don't allow these hacks to be able to make movies anymore...please?
I've said it before, and here I go again - quite possibly one of the top 5 worst movies I've ever seen. Pure horseshit at its smelliest and most vile.
It's funny, actually, because I was looking forward to seeing this at the theater, and when I found it on Netflix, I was very happy. Within literally minutes, I was howling out loud, shaking my head and rolling my eyes like a cartoon character on crack.
Dialogue - just pathetic. Almost every line is a howler.
Characters - just pathetic. Almost every single one is a cliched cartoon cutout.
Sets - LOL! C'mon...
FX - Some of the worst I've ever seen in a $20 Million budgeted, big screen movie.
You may want to implant the motorcycle chase in your memory for how CGI should not look.
Story - LOL! Damn, this must have been one of those "ideas" Luc Besson came up with when he was a preteen child. Just epically horrible in every way possible and imaginable.
Acting - Everyone involved should be embarrassed unless everyone was high as kites while filming - if that's the case, they can look back and laugh, hopefully among friends. Guy Pierce is not an action star, and hopefully will never try to be again.
Honestly, this is just terrible on every level. The decisions being made throughout the movie are honestly laughable. As I said above, the level of intelligence on display throughout is sub marginal and I would think any adult with any knowledge of film should have stepped in and let someone know just how bad everything was.
Luc Besson is hit or miss and this is like swinging a bat in Miami while the pitch is coming from London.
Could be wonderful pisser viewing if completely inebriated with friends.
I'll give this a 0.1 out of 10 stars. The .1 is only for the laughs I had throughout.
I'll tell you what though, watch this thing and see if you don't agree. It's honestly like a giant pisser. The story and character actions/reactions couldn't have been worse if they were trying to make it as bad as possible.

Gotta agree with you 1000% on this one. I had the unfortunate opportunity to see this one (glad it was free!). Not many good things to speak of about this film. I too have been extremely disappointed with the crap - I mean movies coming out lately. I have a couple of free VOD movies available to me on Verizon FIOS, and so far my wife and I can't find a single movie to use them on.

Hahah yeah, this one's pretty unbelievable. That bike chase...f*** sakes.
It's a shame, because I'm all for garbage action movies, and saving the President's daughter from a dumbass space prison that's falling to earth is right up my alley. But I'd avoid this one unless you're in a very specific so-bad-it's-bad-but-not-so-bad-it's-funny kinda mood.
Probably was intended to appeal to an international market rather than the US market.
I checked it out briefly while taking a break from something else. I got as far as the motorcycle chase scene which looked bad even on my laptop. I can't imagine how bad it would've looked on a big screen. The fact that the CGI company is in the beginning credits says a lot. Very annoyed at that kind of crap. It ruins movies, for me at least.

Me too! But I'm not going to change the mood here, this wasn't the best and Guy Pearce doesn't really pull off the witty "John McClane" action star although he gave it a good shot to his credit.
While the typecast Maggie Grace who obviously gets "taken" is just annoying and I was hoping one of the convicts would just kill her and put me out of my misery.
It all felt too similar to Escape from New York but wasn't nearly as much fun as that 80's classic.
Gotta admit, Brett, as much as I wanted to hate Doomsday, I didn't. I can't say I enjoyed it, though, because it's never crossed my mind to watch it again.
Can't believe this came from Besson of Taken. The scene where the gun is dropped and it fires followed by the motorcycle scene - cheesefest at its best. Only checked this out after reading posts here and IMDB to see what the fun was about - it didn't disappoint but it was fun/entertaining for the wrong reasons.
No. Nothing was believable. But if that's what you wanted... why did you watch a movie about the presidents daughter being held hostage at a prison that happens to be orbiting Earth? And I was completly sober. I just loved the energy that went into this super cheesy actionfest. My taste in movies is different than yours Jeff, doesn't mean I'm on drugs because I disagree with you.
