Looks like I'm getting deleted again.  My question wasn't in good taste, or what?

Okay you all have fun with it. I’ve got to get busy on a script.

Scaramouche, scaramouche, will you do the fandango.

I vote for a Shelton script, since it seems to fit all the criteria people want. I also vote Mike gets to pick the script, based on which one he thinks would most benefit from our collective attention.

I have no idea what everyone's leaning toward, but honestly, if you're going to pick a script of mine, go with Coffee & Inspiration.

The script has been up on the boards for quite some time, garnered quite few emails from people who were looking to produce it, and ultimately got produced.  Granted, it was small scale, but still.  I'm sure everyone knows how that goes from getting emails regarding shorts that ultimately fall through, but somebody was finally able to put it together.

There are still a few steps to go on it, film-wise, but it's out there, and in my opinion would be a pretty good script to discuss.  A lot of the SC's have focused on what a sold script needs to look like, but the only problem is that those scripts all dealt with the studio system, and most of us are dealing on an indie level right now.  So why not look at a script that's not only been produced, but the writer is here on the board and can discuss things with everyone when it's all said and done?

Seems like a pretty good learning experience if you ask me.  Hell, I might even take a thing or two away from it.

Who is making the decision on what gets chosen to work on this time around? It's not a big issue really. If there were a lot of people demanding attention here then there might be a problem determining who fits the most deserving criteria. If that were the case, then I'd say we should start a queue.

I think we should just vote on the script we want to do.  Get a list of the options then send off an PM to George.  That will at least decide it.

Coffee and Inspiration sounds good to me also, I have not read it yet. It is being produced which is a added bonus. Lets do it.

This thread is weird, go away for a day and come back to find out all hell has broken loose.

I vote for either The Cabin or Banana Chan.

If people are that scared of ripping into works of real quality then I guess we could do Coffee and Inspiration as a third choice, I suppose it will stop Shelton from crying about it all the time.

Hahaha.

and one of them is even a Lifetime movie.  We can all aspire to that, right?

I'm in, but only if Meredith Baxter Birney agrees to participate.

Personally, I'd love to see Pia and Shelton embarrass themselves, so I'm voting for them!

Seriously though, I think that's wwhen Script Club is at it's best.  When someone here has something they want read and is willing to let us discuss it, that's a win-win.  We learn, and hopefully they take something away from it also.

I love doing produced scripts too, but can we pick a good one next time?  The Strangers SUCKED!  I know why it was picked, it was produced, Nicholls, but god was it awful!

So my vote is Pia/Shelton.  If Pia's still pissed, than Coffee and Inspiration.

P.S.  I think we also need to have a little less democracy around here.  It seems like everytime we reach a consensus, some loudmouth pipes up and throws everything into a tizzy, which sucks.  Unless, of course, I'm the loudmouth, in which case it's a brilliant idea that solves everything!

Carry on!

The voting of course.

Anyway, going forward we should take a couple days to nail down a short list of scripts, then put up a poll to let people vote.

Damn, and here I am with only Tina Yothers in my Rolodex.

And double damn, here I am, actually using a Rolodex.
