Make a boxing film about a boxer who actually has a story to tell, Rocky had 5 movies to tell his story, did they forget something?
I think his son should be the fighter now and Stallone should die as his manager did to pass the torch to his son but I doubt the actor would allow that to happen.
I already know the ending... Rocky wins in a dramatic fight where he takes a lot of punishment. Wow that was a spoiler, almost like I could get into the writers heads.

That would actually make a decent story and a satisfying ending to the series but chances are your right and they will stick with the same over-used formula.

Though earth and man are gone, I thought the cube would last forever. I WAS WRONG.
I'm really looking forward to this film. All of the other films were released before I was born, so it'll be great to actually see a Rocky flick in the theater! It'll probably be mediocre, but I'll go and see it anyway just for the experience!
I think this film will make about $23 million its first weekend on its way to $50 million. I mean come on, this movie is gonna be so bad that some will be dying to see it!
From what I've seen and read about it, I think it's gonna be amazing. I've always respected Sly's writing. He's a great writer and Raging Bull and The Champ aside, Rocky is the best boxing series ever!
There is a lot of emotions in those movies. Yeah, they can get a little ASS SMACK cheeseballish at times, but overall... Great movies.
I've read a bits and pieces of the excerpts from the movie's final screenplay.
(DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT)
It has his son working in downtown Philly, at some big corporation. Adrian is dead at the start and Rocky owns a small restaurant in his old hood, where people come to get pictures taken with the champ.
Mason Dixon is the champ and he's basically beating no-name guys and this prompts Sly to question should he come back or not. He ask his son, who says he's too old and that he needs to start thinking differently. Sly isn't detoured, though. He starts to train and passes the boxing commish regulations, but they fail him anyways... This brings up another battle, I'm guessing. A moral and legal one... Finally he gets his shot... at the end, I'm guessing he does die, cause his son is in the locker room and is said to be crying.
That would be taken right out of the pages of "THE CHAMP" however... So we'll see.
I can't wait for it, myself. Rambo 4 without Crenna, isn't gonna be Rambo 4... Rocky 6, however, will live up to the hype.
I love the original Rocky, though the sequels just don't live up to it in anyway. Rocky II tries a bit too hard to out-do the original and it works in some ways, but it doesn't have quite the same charm or emotion that the original had. Rocky 3 had some great ideas, but things like the charity fight against "Thunder Lips" was just about the exact point where the series shifted to having less character drama and more action. I felt it was a good movie, though. Rocky 4 is even more action oriented than 3 was. Sure, Drago should have pulverized Rocky, but that's what made it so damn exciting. Rocky 5 was just awful, in both action and drama. The premise is an interesting idea. What a way to end a series by taking our hero back to where he grew up. However, it was cheesy, poorly directed, poorly acted, and just not entertaining at all. I like the trailer for Rocky Balboa, though. I don't think it looks bad even if the idea of Sly in the ring again is absurd. I just hope it returns to its roots of the first movie in the way that Rocky 5 should have. I'm not counting Stallone out yet. I really hope he pulls out a good movie with this one. Mason "the line" Dixon is such a fantastic name, in a Rocky series kind of way, of course.
Am I the only one looking forward to this movie. I think this might be pretty good, they have been playing the origianl Rocky on Encore a lot recently and I liked it a lot, and this one seems to have the same take. I have seen all of the Rocky's and the only one I didn't like was number 5, it was horrible, but it seems to be going back to it's roots.
