So I am pretty new here, just discovered the site a few day ago. Figured I'd introduce myself, so here goes: As my user name states, I'm Sean Friel. I'm from good ol' "Live Free or Die" NH and writing scripts is a newfound passion of mine. I've always loved movies, I love em, can't get enough. One day I thought, 'why not write my own movie?' Been writing ever since. Glad to be here, glad to read other people's work, hope to contribute a lot.
Welcome to S.S., Sean! Contributing is the main thing around here and it's good to see a new member with a great attitude willing to do that. Best of luck with your writing and I hope to see you around on the boards.
I submitted one of mine last night so it might be a little while before it pops up. Just hoping to learn and work on my skills, and it'll be nice to have other writers to talk to. I'm sure the script I sent up is riddled with errors, and after reading some of the stuff on these boards I've already cringed at a few things I put in mine. Can't wait to get to know you guys better!
Welcome! What kind of scripts do you write? Don't worry about the errors in your script either. Some people like to pounce on the smallest things, so just make a note of them and move on. A lot of the stuff is a matter of preference, so it's really weeding out those "mistakes" from ones that will actually be cause for alarm during a read. Look forward to seeing your work!
Jordan, the script I submitted is called "Leaf Peepers." Matt - I haven't written a large body of work yet but I guess the stuff I typically write is every day type of stuff. Some might find it boring, but the characters in Leaf Peepers, I feel like everyone can relate to on some level. I'm at the 'write what you know' stage. Just whatever story comes naturally. Hope that sort of answers your question.
Welcome aboard, Sean. Lots of peeps here that will help...or at least try and help.
The more you give, the more you'll get back, so jump in on active threads and throw out your 2 cents on thoughts of the story, writing, characters, whatever.
