The Black Lagoon by Brent Saltzman - Thriller, Adaptation - A new take on the 1954 classic "The CReature from the Black Lagoon." Luke Pennings and his daughter have just moved into a lagoon-side house. When strange happenenings begin to arise, townsfolk start telling tales of a murderer who once lived in the house, and a strange creature's presence is felt, Luke must unlock the deep and terrible secret of... the Black Lagoon. - html format.
This was my first attempt at an adaptation and I had more fun with it than any of my previous works. PLease, if anyone has read it, or even part of it, reply, because I love getting responses...good or bad.
I have always wanted to do "King Kong," but Peter Jackson beat me to the punch so I rather do something else. I have already started on "Land of the Lost," a version that's easy to follow, and actually has dinosaurs, and no stupid family-orianted plot to follow. It will take place in the jungles of India and will have more of a "Lost World" storyline.
Here are the projects I intend to complete by Winter (take note that I LOVE B-Movies)
-"Land of the Lost" -"Abominable" (Yeti in antarctica) -"Fathoms" (rewrite)
I like this script, and just wanted to know How Much would it cost to get the rights to this one? I'm doing some research.
I'm not a real Film maker or anything.. I'm Playing a Game that has me seting up a production company. My Goal is to make a Movie for 2,000,000. so sorry if I'm Breaking any Rules here.
If you've read the script, you'll notice that it is as far away from the black lagoon as you can get. It is so different, in fact, that if it weren't called the Black Lagoon, it would be impossible to tell it was an adaptation of it. So the title will be changed, we're still debating what to, though. Right now the leading competitor is "Creepers."
