Hey Jordan;

I'd guess time of year;

Course you got the Holidays rearing up with parties, shopping, eating, travelling, more eating, all that good stuff...Plus for some of ya'll, it's cold out...And getting real dark early...That can tame the writing muse somewhat...

Then with American Football running full speed ahead, with the 3x SuperBowl Champion New England Patriots looking to continue a 10-0 season, even the 'Boys and Brett Farve's Packers are having a phenomenal year (thanks for not retiring, Brett!)...All these make it hard to concentrate on other things on Sundays...

Joe

I think it's the time of year, Jordan. I reckon people are winding down for the year and getting ready for Christmas. It’ll probably fire up again in January.

I have to admit I've been disinclined to read scripts lately. When I check out the Shorts thread, it's usually scripts I've already read before occupying the top one or two pages (that's the case even now). As for features, nobody writes them anymore. Only people who don't participate in the board. Everyone else seems to have moved on.

Other than that, I've been busy and I'm sure a lot of other people have been too. Sure, it's the holidays but there's always other things going on in people's lives. I wouldn't worry about it though. I've been here for two years and in those two years, Simply Scripts has always had dryspells. But activity usually picks up again after a while.

You haven't read mine...

A lot of the shorts lately have been MoviePoet scripts so I've already read them, or they are by people that don't visit the boards. I'm going to read mostly features for a while but will read shorts every now and then if it is by someone I "know".

It has been slow here, but it was really slow last year in November as well. In fact I think I even started a thread asking why it was so quiet here. I think it stayed quiet until the OWC in January. Or something like that.

Apparently, I haven't. I'm home for the holidays and can't read scripts on this computer but I'll check out Old Wounds when I get back to college. If I haven't read everything you've written, I've read a good chunk and enjoyed just about everything I've read. There's also a script by Spencer and another by Michael (Cornetto) I'll probably check out. Other than that, I've read more than half of the scripts on the first page of the Shorts thread. The rest don't appeal to me. I don't like reading scripts by people who don't frequent the boards nor do I like reading scripts about killers in the woods. I like to read what I think is going to be worth my while.

It's the holiday season and most people, myself excluded, have lives outside their home offices.
It'll probably pick up next week or so, and then dwindle again once Christmas rolls around. Things will get back to normal in January, when people return to their homes and back to their routinees.

On subject, it takes me quite a while to get through a feature. I'm still reading MONKEY'S PAW, which is actually good, but I can't read scripts on my laptop, where I do most of my work. I've been trying to read more, but the days go by so fast.

James,

I was just kidding. Your input is always valuable, but between MP and here I have had plenty of feedback. I'd rather you take a look at my MM script when goes up.

Enjoy your time at home btw.

Everybody's just busy buying presents for me.  Activity will pick up once everyone's done shopping.

People, just remember to send the receipt, too.  Returning stuff to the store is much easier when I got a receipt.  So, don't forget the receipt.  >

Well, the board certainly seems to have sparked up in the past few days, Jordan.
