Hey,

Are we talkin' 'bout a metaphorical ass biting or a literal ass biting?

Or is that up to interpretation?

I think either way would be acceptable as long as it's loaded with stereotypes for Phil's reading pleasure.

Oh, one more thing.  Make sure the ass farts...a lot.  He likes that.

You guys are soooooo funny that maybe it will be another comedy.

If you want to do stereotypes so much, how about blaxploitation as a genre?

At least nobody could bitch about the genre since blaxploitation pretty much runs the gambit.

What about a comedy/horror about a black gay guy who farts on people and has a set of teeth in his ass?

I already have written a short about that and would mean I have a good chance of winning then!!

And no Noir.  There's a noir contest going on elsewhere so I've just written one.  Make it a good old drama.  Everyone hates that genre pretty much evenly across the board.

Is that the title?  If so, you could make a million dollars.

That's funny that is exactly what Jerry Bruckheimer said when he read it, Michael Bay is slated to start production in 2009.

Damn, and to think that he told me that "Aristotle and the Clumpy Cat Litter Slingshot" was a terrible idea.

It really was a kid's movie, I swear.

Back to the OWC...

Let's take another crack at Sci Fi "Popcorn"

"Flash Gorddenbacher Conquers the Snack Food Universe" is still the greatest script I never wrote.

I hope we have one soon because it will give me an excuse to write something.  Lately, I've just been bashing my ideas.

As long as we don't have to write a comedy with a goat or a psychological thriller with a drug addict, I'm happy.

Please, read Elvis The Goat or Cold Turkey.  Thanks in advance and I'll make sure to review your script in exchange.

The best part about it is that it slows down the rest of the boards and focuses everyones attention on shorts... so, it's kind of like any other day on the boards.

Yes, there will be a OWC.  It will happen late January.  I'm crazy behind in updating the site and I want to get the outstanding unproduced scripts up and the decks cleared before I delve into a OWC.

Comedy as the genre is great.  The theme, as of yet, is undecided.  Also, I don't know if I have a 'sponsor', yet - i.e., having someone lined up to audio produce the 'selected' script.   Also, since the genre has already been decided upon, that means, of course, that that theme is going to come out of left field.

Stand by for more information.

Don

If the genre has not been decided then why did Don say it was?

Not that a genre change would bother me - unless the new genre is film noir (then I'll know you chose that one just to personally annoy me).

I never thought of film noir as a genre.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I could be wrong, but I believe Don was kidding because I caused a stink last time when it was comedy.

I did apologize though...........

All I have to say is that no genre lends itself to the short film format quite like the historic epic.  And if you can work in Moses all the better.

The genre should be Action. I don't think there has been an action OWC yet.

I don't know why people complain regarding what is chosen anyway, sure some of them have been too stupid to garner any seriousness but you get what you get like any "real" challenge.

It's not a challenge if it's something you're comfortable with now is it.

The idea of the OWC is to see if you could write a script based on someone else's idea.  If a director needed a particular script in a week's time, could you do it?  If it was meant to be easy, we'd be doing slasher shorts all the time.

It was just a gentle'ish reminder to the others.

Btw, thank you Cindy. I loved the Christmas tree ornament. I'll keep it forever and display it every year.

TJ, can't wait to see what you sent. A chocolate dipped marsipan pig would be awesome, but whatever you sent will be treasured.

Great idea Philip!

I'm seen a young goat runing out of the farm looking for exciting life in NEWYORK, then he finds a gangue, so he gets in love with the girl of the gangue chief etc, etc
