Special effects and make up master Stan Winston Passed away last night, no cause of death has been announced.  If you're a F/X junkie like me you know how important he was to the film industry, probably one of the most important people in the movies, sad that he is no longer with us to give us some of the coolest and scariest creatures in film history

This really sucks. Stan Winston created some of the best movie monsters EVER. Definitely a loss.

They just revealed the cause. Cancer.  Damn it,  I can't believe I only found less than two years ago that this man was responsible for The Terminator and Pumpkinhead FX. I didn't get to see much of his work but what I did see was amazing, Revolutionary for its time, even.

I don't think it's really hit me yet that this man is gone. I can't convey how much I was influenced by (and appreciated) his work. This is definitely a man who won't be forgotten anytime soon.

Another huge Hollywood loss. This hasn't been a good year.

Big blow for the f/x industry. Winston was the best.
