Personally, I've always been a sucker for 3D movies, but it's advanced greatly already from the cardboard red/blue glasses! Just recently I saw Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, and I was really impressed by the visuals and it looks like quite a lot of movies coming up are following it's path such as Coraline and Final Destination 4 using this new Real D format with glasses that look just like sunglasses! I clenched when I first heard that the new Final Destination would be in 3D but I don't know it could be really cool, I just hope it's a good movie regardless of the visuals! Anyways, I was wondering what everyone else's opinions were on the movie business going 3D???

I saw Journey to the center of the earth and I thought it only worked sometimes...most with the credits in the beginning and end. Other points were good but at other points I got cross eyed at the effects. I think this is just me because the person I went with kept going on on how welll the 3d worked.
There are quite a few 3D movies coming out:
Final Destination 4
My Bloody Valentine 3D
Piranha 3D
Avatar
Bolt

and a possible Journey sequel (Journey to Atlantis?)...and a few animated others.

Surprised at how many of those are horror. I was either not alive or too little to care so could someone comment on the 3D in Friday The 13th: Part 3 and Freddy's Dead when they were in theaters?

Personally, I hate 3D. To me, it's just a stupid gimmick and it should remain so--at Disney parks and the like only.

I don't know why. It simply lessens the experience for me.

3D can look cool if it's done right but if the movie sucks, what's the point? Never seen a 3D movie outside Universal Studios though.

Piranha 3D

Awesome!

My Bloody Valentine 3D

This is one of the few remakes I approve of (as if my opinion really matters) since Paramount has permanently screwed up the original. Not the greatest horror movie but good enough to deserve some fixing up. Not sure what 3D would do for it though. Should be interesting nevertheless.

Is My Bloody Valentine the one with the people in the coal mine?

If so, I'd agree that it was pretty crappy, but I'll have to admit to seeing worse.
