I found out tonight that AoA offers online screenwriting classes. I'm considering it, but I'm not really sure how much I'd gain. I already wasted a lot of time and money on my first college attempt and I really don't want to do that again.

Has anyone taken online classes before? Has anyone taken screenwriting classes before? Thoughts? Opinions?

I cannot say that this won't be helpful to you. I think it all depends upon how you approach it.

I think any experience is beneficial. Even if you feel like you're not learning something in an instance of time, I believe, you most certainly are.

I think your reason for not joining in this study should be because you have chosen to work in a different environment, not because you think it's a waste of time. The only way it would be a waste of time, would be if you sincerely believed it to be a waste of time. o

Don't be a hard judge either way. Joining this study could be very beneficial, but also, working in a different group and with others of your choice might be more so.

Just keep your desire alive. Don't worry about outcomes, just do the work you know needs to get done.

There are a bunch of online sites that offer courses in screenwriting and directing. My advice would be to ignore them. It would be better to find a good book about the field and read the masters of the craft.

I think screenwriting can be learned by yourself, you just need to heat for the right way.

It sounds like a very interesting book. I've written it down.

I'm not saying you have to ignore it. But Online things are a mess up. Maybe because i believe you learn things on yourself. Basically there are so many scripts available where you can learn the craft.

A director said (i forgot the name) :  You don't need them to tell you how to do it, but this is how i do it.

Per the site, the only difference between the on-site class and the online class are the locations. I'm in the classroom, or I'm in my bedroom. There's no difference in the form of homework or quizzes.

Taking it online is also a lot cheaper, too.
