Seasons greetings to you all! I hope you all have a wonderful time with your loved ones this Christmas. I still pop in from time to time to see how the oldies are doing and it's so nice to see so many newer members so well integrated into the group.
Wishing you all lots of love, happiness and success in 2009 and a happy New Year too.
All my love, Andy xxx |

Merry Christmas Andy and everybody. And I just found this site that might interest you all. It has creepy Christmas films, one for each day of the month leading up to the big 2 5. http://www.creepychristmas.net/Cheers. |

Although I wasn't crazy about all of the stories, I still enjoyed them a lot. They were all of VERY high quality. I'm absolutely bananas over short films and when they have the quality of feature films I really really love them.
Thanks for sharing. |

A random thought I had yesterday, which will become today's random thought on SS. It's Christmas related, so I figured this was the best place for it.
Anyway, I was driving home from work, listening to Christmas tunes on the radio that have been going since November 1 because corporations absolutely suck and have nothing better to do but try and drive you insane well before Christmas day, when Andy Williams' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" came on.
Now, I've noticed this before and never said anything about it, but for some reason I felt compelled to yesterday. This lyric...
"They'll be scary ghost stories, and tales of the glorys from Christmases long, long ago."
...makes no sense at all to me. Who the hell tells Scary ghost stories at Christmas time? My wife thought that it might mean "A Christmas Carol", which is somewhat valid, but are the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future really scary? Is that enough to qualify Scrooge's tale on the whole as a ghost story?
On another note, could "the most wonderful time of the year" be expanded to include Halloween, where scary ghost stories are more justified? If that's the case, why no mention of Thanksgiving? The space time continuum jumps ahead.
Discuss. |

"They'll be scary ghost stories, and tales of the glorys from Christmases long, long ago." that doesn't make sense, you are right. Now, if changed to halloween, that would be interesting especially with that lyric. Thanksgiving would be good too. This could definitely be expanded for most holidays in the year |
