Hi Mike. Just wondering if the characters you are musing over are Italian? I used Sal in my script 'Sent'. He's an old Italian pizza cook, short for Salvatore. So unless Sam in your story is Italian or whatever as well, I'd leave as is.
It's interesting some of the techniques used here by the SS folk. I have to nail the names straight away in my scripts and never change them after that. cheers

The names are really Sal and Sam, I just used that as an example. The names that want to switch are Elliot/Eric. And they aren't ethnic. It's annoying because I chose Elliot specifically, not that there's any real reason for him to be named Elliot except in my head.

Big LOL What a great question! In the Shiva game, I kept thinking of Agkistrodon Piscivorus and I actually loved it as a full name-- you know like one of those weird names that a kid from the 60s got that had to do with chanting and moon cycles or something (yeah-yeah it's a snake name  ) but of course Jeff had a big laugh at the whole name and you know the story...

How does one go about shortening it? The last name, I mean. Okey dokey... Pisss--- and then you get that stutter happening and you've really got serious problems.

So I adopted Pesco for our beloved late comer in the game.

My answer then on your question... What was the question? Just kidding!

My answer is that you should go for it! If for some reason something keeps hitting you and it won't let you rest, then maybe you should change it and be happy you did...

On the other hand, if you change it and then everything REVERSES!!! Well, then, you've got problems.

Quoted from dresseme

I had to change a character with the name TIM using Find and Replace and it changed all the uses of "TIME" too and any other words beginning with "TIM".  Made for a very awkward read.

I've screwed things up by using find and replace too. Her mother became her MRS. BLAH BLAH when I brilliantly decided to change how good ole MOTHER was referenced.
