I just heard that too. Makes me sad even though it was inevitable. He seemed like a genuinely nice person too. |

Of The Ancients What if the Hokey Pokey, IS what it's all about?
LocationBowden, Alberta Posts3664 Posts Per Day 0.60 |
Thanks Michael, for starting the thread in respect. I'm glad I looked because I almost started a duplicate. I've been listening to a lot of Nickeldback lately and: I would like to post these lyrics in dedication to Patrick Swayze and a life well lived: I believe that all this stuff that enters in our corporeality is just a mist, and that in the end, it's something within the depths and breadths of our lives that lives on. So let's think of Patrick, our dear friend that most of us never got to really know and imagine that today, might be our last day. Then, we might be able to live it to the fullest extent for which we were created. Music here with overlays from Final Fantasy Game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fl4PrljQdeA (embedding disabled by request. If Today Was Your Last DayMy best friend gave me The best advice He said each day's a gift And not a given right Leave no stone unturned Leave your fears behind And try to take The path less traveled by That first step you take Is the longest stride If today was your last day And tomorrow was too late Could you say goodbye to yesterday? Would you live each moment like your last? Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have? If today was your last day If today was your last day Against the grain Should be a way of life What's worth the prize Is always worth the fight Every second counts 'cause there's no second try, So live like you'll Never live it twice Don't take the free ride In your own life If today was your last day And tomorrow was too late Could you say goodbye to yesterday? Would you live each moment like your last? Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have? [ Nickelback Lyrics are found on http://www.songlyrics.com ] Would you call old friends you never see? Reminisce of memories Would you forgive your enemies? Would you find that one you're dreamin' of Swear up and down to God above That you finally fall in love If today was your last day If today was your last day... Would you make your mark By mending a broken heart? You know it's never too late To shoot for the stars, Regardless of who you are So do whatever it takes 'cause you can't rewind A moment in this life Let nothin' stand in your way 'cause the hands of time Are never on your side If today was your last day And tomorrow was too late, Could you say goodbye to yesterday? Would you live each moment like your last? Leave old pictures in the past Donate every dime you have? Would you call old friends you never see? Reminisce of memories Would you forgive your enemies? Would you find that one you're dreamin' of Swear up and down to God above That you finally fall in love If today was your last day ** Love sent to Patrick and family. We know he's here with us still. I guess it was just a matter of time but I'm still saddened by Patrick's death. He starred in quite a few movies/Tv shows that I, at least at the time, thought was pretty damn good; North & South, Red Dawn, Youngblood, Ghost, Road House.
"Be nice - until it's time not to be nice"
Patrick ruled!

It seems like I could blink, and "Ghost" would be right before me. During the time that Ghost was popular, I was just living, but I always had this weird compelling thing going on since I was a child-- a strong desire to give. Who knows? Just a big ego I guess. Now, I hear that Patrick was only a mere 57 when he passed, and I honestly wonder, why I haven't moved on yet. With all my health problems, I should be finito. And it brings me to my father's words: "When it's you're time to go, it's you're time to go!" We can't fathom anything in this life really. We try and get smart, but it seems very frivolous and the best thing is to lean on someone else. I think that's the very best gift of all-- our weakness, because then we can connect with our friends. Crazy sentimentalist, but I send my deepest condolences, Love and prayers sent, Sandra |

Poor old Pat. Loved him in Donnie Darko. Rest in peace fella.
I believe Keith Floyd also just died. I doubt he's well known outside the U.K. but like the Swayze he always made me smile. And like myself he was rather fond of a drink. Sadly missed. Rest in peace. |

Keith Floyd died? Damn. Used to watch him a lot on BBC Food. Remember him getting more than a little drunk on a couple occasions. RIP too Keith.

One of the TV channels here just cleared its schedule and is now running nothing but Swayze all day. Point Break is on right now, actually. |

The wind doth live And I doth blow And stillness After shaking Low And I'm brought down Before the letter Law in earnest Dust together Down descending Down in lust Bound and chained By freedom's crust Holding dearly To the hand That raises me And helps me stand. Thanks for the video. I truly enjoyed it. Sandra |

God forbid that Sandra give a straight answer when prose can be her response.
She speaks of lust of lust and of being raised. I'm with her, in spirit at least. Keep em cooking S E! |

Well, we all saw it coming. But it is sad, nonetheless. I can't believe his death was almost overshadowed by that idiot Kanye West and his rudeness towards Taylor Swift!
Patrick was such a great actor. A truly great loss for Hollywood. R.I.P.

Correction for IMBD:
We're dealing with the written and it feels very wrong for me to not point out errors as they are found-- since errors are just opportunities these are blessings in the proverbial disguise.
It is the summer of 1963 and Baby and her family are to attend the holiday resort in America's beautiful Catskill Mountains. But when they arrive Baby is almost immediatly swept off her feet by the sexy and talented Johnny Castle.
When her father forbids her to have anything to do with the hunky resort dance instructor and his pals, she finds herself falling madly in love with him and learning how to dance the passionate latin dances that Johnny loves.
Like the beginning of the 60's signalled the ending of an
area of innocence for U.S.A.,
Note the connection between "area" and "Era". Very close and their approximation defines a very certain realness because we can feel the subtle differences.
Note too;
it also signals the ending of Baby's innocence and the awakening of her feelings as a young woman.
I completely get this, although my computer is misbehaving at the moment.
Thank you all,
Sandra El.
