I don't know how many people know of this product or use it, but I've been using it a lot as of late as a supplement to Movie Outline's own tools that come within the program... It's basically an all in one work space that allows you to do everything from inside a make shift desktop for the writer.

You have an incredible tool at your disposal that allows you to path out plots on a cork board and it will generate separate branches your story can go and arch off to. Highly intuitive and keeps your mind thinking about the bigger picture and not just the one you're trying to write on your 1st draft.

A lot of the screenplays I write could not be done without the 3 path set up and discovering this program has accented that fact a great deal.

That is the big stand out feature of the program to me... But there is so much more to it. You have a name data base. You have an on board journal. You have various tools to help with character development and structure... And so much more.

It's a great little app and one I'd recommend people to check out if they're ever at an area where they need more than one way to skin a cat, so to speak.  Now, to me, Movie Outline is the best complete writing companion available... but if you're already at ease with a final Draft and don't wanna spend the 200 to 300 for it, then go and get this.

I have this, but I only used it a little so far and haven't worked with it enough to figure it out.

These kinds of tools are very good for switching things up in the way you perceive the story in its conception.

For myself personally, I've noticed I use a number of tactics to generate a living script. One of the most important aspects for me is pliability. In order to keep that kind of sense while working at the same time as holding onto some kind of structure is important and visual tools mapping tools etc., organizing in various modes is always good.

Good you brought this up for people.

Sandra

Why do you want to steal it?

As a writer, don't you respect copyrights of intellectual property?

I can give it to you, so, in theory, it's not like you stealing... It's me giving you a gift.

Isn't that what we do by posting them up here? I mean, anyone can use them... Study them. LEarn from them. I don't condone stealing viable software. Software that still has legs on the market or is "readily" available. I do, however, encourage everyone and their mothers to find a copy of Sophocles and spin it on their hard drives until they blow up, though.

My original reply was in fun, BTW. I wouldn't openly give out the software in public... I'd wait for someone to PM me and then do it.   And for the reccord, I have never stolen an app... I've bought Sophocles, Final Draft 8, Writers Cafe, Movie Outline and tons of other programs... If I can help out a few people who might not have the resources to come up with one of the above, I'm glad to help get some tools into their hands so they can maybe express themselves better.

We post our scripts here for feedback and in hope that maybe someone out there would like to use our script for a film. If we one day find out someone used one of our scripts to make a film and we were never asked for permission...how would we feel?

I appreciate people showing there thoughts on this though as I have very strong feelings about this myself...

Perhaps, people still ideas everyday... Hell, look at Hollywood as we speak. We haven't seen an original script since 1989. The industry is a bottom feeding one and you only make it if you're serious. And I mean serious about beating everyone else to the punch and using every thing you can to get ahead in doing so.

No one makes it by being  a nice guy.

With that said, I write for experession only... I know my material is leaps and bounds better than anything being produced so it's Hollywoods loss. My music and band are where my focus...

I'm off to the hospital now... My little girl seems to be on the way. Yay!

This is really interesting to hear, Baltis. I understand what you are saying from one side of the coin, (meaning some exploit the system for their own means, and some use the system to help others - again, meaning: some people write to express themselves while at the same time making some money that they want to use to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Give back. They won't change what they live and work for once they have the bucks, but it will make their life easier, while still benefiting others)

Who the hell underlines in italics in parenthesis!!!??? Guess I do.

... So SUPERPOSITION: I'm sure that you or someone else here has heard of "Superposition"? It all has to do with probability and quantum ideas of where "something exists in two places at once". Think of it as "the two sides of the coin" idea. --

Both heads and tails exist together in the same place, the coin. (Insert Sandra's other thoughts right now. Seriously, I'm thinking, I've gotta secret, Rob. Right now, yes. If you're reading this, you know what I mean.   such flower children everywhere!!!") ....

...OK, back to the "Superposition" again,  ...In truth, "Two states exist simultaneously, but it's a perception guided from "Somewhere else, that determines our outlook and experiential perception determines our outlook, (Yes, I know Outlook's in their twice)

My POINT IS: The two sides of the coin in the gist of your post regarding "The Stealing of Ideas" is this.

Bottom Feeders, stealing ideas, doing a little nipping and tucking and changing and spinning it so they have SOMETHING, they can sell rather quick and easy without credit to the person who did most of the work.

Passion People, who will continue at their craft regardless of whether they will make a dime. They have so many ideas and so much love of what they do, they can give stuff away for free. Quite often, they are actually happy to do so because they are so inspired, and they only want to exercise the love of what they do and share it with others. These people would love to receive remuneration, but they think of taking such remuneration with an even heavier desire to give back even more, since one feels like one owes, always, and more and more.

I think the issue comes down to intent. I'm sure there have existed many people in all the generations, that have been thiefs for a good cause. Robin Hood comes to mind.

Stealing, still = Bad, but maybe Karma is just turning its wheels, in which Stealing = Good in a morphic change. If one of Robin Hood's Rich Men did some evil in their lives to obtain their wealth, and contain their wealth in greed Karma might come along and bring "The Thief" stealing. Maybe "The Thief" stealing, isn't bad, but just exists to "even the score".

OK, I'm done!   Glad? Or you want more. What kind of more?

Congratulations on the baby, Baltis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sandra
