Damn, this game is the shit! Talk about hardcore. After the deplorable World at War instalment from Treyarch, Infinity Ward puts Call of Duty back on top with Modern Warfare 2.

Though the story is not exactly mind blowingly original, it works for what it is. In short - there's psycho Russian on the loose and it's your job to stop him...any means necessary. You're back as three different characters - one of them die rather quick - SAS and US Army Rangers. Some of the characters from MW1 return for this one (even one you thought was dead).

The difficulty level has deffinitely been raised though big time - enemies are much harder to kill this time and they'll engage you from a much greater distance than in MW1.

Some of the missions are simply just amazing. There's an assault on a Russian gulag which is uber-cool, plus one where the US is invaded in a Red Dawn fashion (the mission amply called "Wolverine") but the best one is probably the one that takes place at the White House.

The voice acting is - again - top notch.

Only downside to this game is the fact that it does get a bit repetitive after a while, especially for those who have played MW1. The blood spatter that hits the screen when you take a hit also get a little annoying.

All in all - this game rocks - or as Miguel Ferrer puts it:

Down in the hole / Jesus tries to crack a smile / Beneath another shovel load

Yeah, I got to say I've been caining this game for a week or so now.  It's awesome but at the same time frustrating, being battered by a kid and then having them take the piss is just too much...aghh!!! Oh my blood boils.

This is the exact same game as the other two online. Annoying kids, adults and others who have no lives and spend all day shit talking.

The online is fun but I only play it because my friends won't play anything else. Peer pressure or boredom made me start playing the same game I disliked two years ago.

Great game, especially the online portion. The single player is good, but the story has gotten the Micheal Bay treatment and is a little hard to follow.

Anyone here play on PS3?

You mean my blu ray player? They have games too?

Borderlands is a more fun online game, just saying.

Last I was on this game on my xbox, they had over 3 million people playing and I was ranked in the bottom percentage haha

Microsoft is doing something right to have that many people playing consistently.

Zack, you should get MAG when it comes out because it looks like a serious contender for COD. It is a PS3 exclusive too so I'm happy that I have both consoles.

Borderlands is great, but the perspective is zoomed in too far, even when you're not aiming down the sights! It gets annoying fast. Better online than COD? Not touching that one.

My grumble is purely with the xbox's reliability.  Mines bust twice now and everyone I know has gone through at least one ring of death, some have had it twice like me.  When you buy something for hundreds of pounds you just expect it to work for more than 12 months!

Mine had the RROD and luckily enough I still had a warranty and they fixed it like four times until finally they gave up and sent me a new one.

Never had a problem with my PS3 eventhough it does have just as high of a failure rate as X Box.

I never had a console break on me until this Next Gen cycle.

As a first game compared to COD, COD should have the better online but once Borderlands is able to grow I only see it going up.

MAG as well coming out this month.

The competition only means we get more effort put forth to make us happy.
