Quoted from Niles_Crane

Not in the circles I move in. When I've asked for a Danish in my local Gerards, they have never offered to suck anything.

Or, alternatively, was pretentious crap from a Director who has taken to believing his own publicity and who has consequently lost the plot.

And I've an IQ of 127. Not that I'm bragging or anything
.

Like I say, massively underrated. The film was on a level so far above 99% of films that get made. It was poetic, sad, brutal, incredibly deep and layered. The performances were some of the best I've ever seen and the Cinematography made everything else at the Cannes film festival look like student films. On top of that, the sound design is utterly breathtaking.

It's an amazing piece of work.

Everything is subjective to a point, but I stand by what I said about the majority of people not liking it just because they didn't get it. The user reviews on IMDb are not definitive, but they give a very good general sense of how people see the film and those that don't like it just don't seem to understand it on any level, they simply dismiss it becasue it doesn't fit in with their pre-conceived ideas of what films are.

People have become so used to being spoon fed that they are no longer capable of thinking about a film and engaging with it like you would any other art form.

as far as last year, Moon. It was great, Sam Rockwell is by far the most underrated actor, and even gave Kevin Spacey something good to do. Let's hear it for non-cgi effects that look like you can even touch them.

Totally agree with you, Tim. What a fantastic "little" movie this was, such a sad story.

Indeed. Moon is a fine film.

Although for its type, considering it was a debut, and the director's only claim to fame was his daddy, it did pretty damn well.

I wonder if there's any truth to the rumour that the sequel is about life on Mars.

Bloody hell Niles,

Les Dennis and Davro would have been proud of that one.
