So I wanted to do something viral and came up with this idea while staring at the ground outside my office building. I find it amusing.
To make it more realistic, I shot it with my cell phone, and then loaded the video into iClone, a machinima program like Moviestorm. So while I was working the animation in the foreground, I had to take into account the instability of the video in the background. You can't see it, but on the street corner where the guy flies out of, there are two guys fighting. They come through as little black dots.
Chuckle funny. I am still smiling. If you could string together a few random characters slamming into the window (like a kitten, please do a kitten), it would be like the castle scene in MP & The Holy Grail where those nasty French men bombard the MP gang with the farm animals.
So as I was watching this, I saw a little black speck in the center of the video screen. It was bothering me very much as it was very distracting as I was waiting to see what was going to happen. So I tried picking off the black spot (normally there is food particles on my computer screen some times, since I am a very messy eater--I am a zombie after all), and suddenly that person flew at my face. Job well done, George. Job well done.
The speck looks much better when you don't have it scrunched to low-res. In fact, you can make out that there are two people there, and they are actually fighting. On YouTube, though... Yeah, specks.
To really sell it you need a few improvements IMO.
1. You should have people talking in the office. "Look there's two guys having a fight down there". "You can't see em very clearly but they're fighting...can you see them, by the side of the road?". "Oh yeah". "Oh what a punch"
2. Then you should hear the guy coming...a long, low scream.
3. He should linger a bit longer on the window and slide down.
Technically you could do with motion tracking the fighting action to the original video and the guy who throws the punch seems to disappear as well when the other guy is flying.
