Tonight in Hollywood is a very special event for John Carpenter fans!
Cast and crew Q&A, new 35mm print, props on display.
And commemorative posters & program booklet with new art! It's a Thing geekgasm!
Any questions for the cast and crew? I'll try to get some answers.
If you're in Hollywood tonight, I hope to see you there!

I actually just watched this movie last night. That's awesome that you'll get to go to this! I'm real jealous. I don't have any questions, though, if there's a way that you can some how record the Q&A, or at least remember the answers to the questions asked, and you posted them back here, that'd be great. I'd love to hear what they have to say about this film.

Man, I *loved* that film.  Slightly upset that they felt it had to be remade...  Though admittedly, the FX looks quite visceral and effective.

One of my fav horror films....  (Esp. the line: You've got to be F*uckin' kidding me...)

Janet,

It's hilarious that you mentioned that line.
David Clennon, who played that part, was at the screening last night!
He was a hoot, looks great, stays in shape.

Clennon said there was a fair amount improv on the set, but not that line.
He went on to say that during that scene, "spiderhead" was in the room.
The actors always had the actual prop in action to react to.
Shockingly 85% of the movie was shot on a sound stage.
And the creature effects shop was a short drive away.

The effects supervisor had some great insights to share.
They created FOUR HEADS just for the head separation on the exam table.
One to separate, one to push away from the body, one to slide down the table...
and a fourth to pull itself across the floor.
No one else was going into such depth to get thirty seconds of film.

They showed a new 35mm print, gorgeous on a giant screen.
BluRay can eat it!

E.D.
