A quick rant: If I ever hear the line 'mark my words' in a movie again, I'm going to scream! Has anyone EVER heard that line in real life?! It stands out and just totally derails any focus I have on the movie I'm watching. Total cheese. If that line hasn't bothered you before now, just you wait....

Anyone out there have an overused line of dialog that drives them f_cking crazy?

JE STATTS, remote in one hand, a beer in the other, watches TV on a sofa.

Out of nowhere, he hurls the remote, just missing the screen.

His WIFE enters, carrying popcorn. She takes a seat next to JE.

WIFE
Again?

JE STATTS
(re: TV)
Christ, anyone can write that drivel.

WIFE
Really - anyone?

JE STATTS
Don't mock my words.

WIFE
Mark.

JE STATTS
What?

WIFE
Mark my words. You said mock.

JE STATTS
I meant mock.

WIFE
(eye roll)
Sure you did.

JE rises from the sofa, storms off.

WIFE
(calling out)
He just said, Don't you die on me, man!

JE STATTS (O.S)
Arrrgh!

I agree - there's a ton of them out there

I despise the word "dialogue" spelled as "dialog"

This is just my general dislike of overused phrases but if

"It's not rocket science"

is used in a sincere way, the film will have to work hard to get me back on its side.

I hate the exclamation "Of course!"  immediately followed by some exposition that was revealed earlier in the film. "Remember we told you this earlier? well, we are just gonna come out and say it, in case you missed it"
