I've got pretty much everything... I even bought a big piece of wild boar from a local hunter.

Food isn't a problem, the economy is. What is going to be left?

I've no idea if my Accountancy business can survive, or if any of my tenants are going to be able to pay. I've got rental insurance, but I've no idea if it will cover this...People could lose absolutely everything. Its crazy.

Yeah, the government here are bringing in measures to prevent people from being evicted, however, this isn't what is actually needed. What is needed is their rent paid so things can keep on turning.

I think we're all going to be losing out here. I'm actually starting to get a little worried. I'm thinking that if things get too bad, I'll have to take a real job as a delivery driver or something. I've made around 30% of what I normally make in a month.

I'm supposed to be getting more work in and waiting to hear from other jobs as I've started putting myself out there again. I may have to renew my subscriptions to Upwork et al.

No extra food. I bought some shopping today but the shelves were empty. I even bought some cooking bacon whatever that is. No chicken at all. I eat chicken almost every day. One thing I do have plenty of is coffee.

Another thing, that's quite strange, the army has been moving heavy machinery like tanks around in the early hours of the morning. Something else may be going on. The virus could be a mere distraction.

Top tip: If things get really bad you don't need to stockpile! You just need to know where your nearest stockpiler lives...

I am very proud of myself as I got the very last pack of rice from the store! So now I have rice, pretzels and beef. I also have some veggies and planning to freeze them. I got too late to the frozen veggies section, all the supplies were long gone by then. There’s no flour strangely and no sugar near me - that surprises me. I’d get flour.
Ah, I also got egg noodles as vermicelli was totally gone by the time I hit the stores. But I made egg noodles today and they r as good.

Plenty of meats here - I guess that they restock frequently than other stuff. I want to think food will return to stores.

Quoted from Hank
Propaganda is normally associated with promoting negativity. One day you'll understand that hurting and murdering animals for food or sport is barbaric and disgusting. Anyone who disagrees is simply currently on the wrong side of history, similarly to supporters of segregation and those against women's rights.

Lol you’re like one of these people who all the time talk about washing themselves as opposed to using toilet paper. Using the bad times to impose your believes on the others - that’s smart!

People dont seem to grasp that even if they and their family are quarantined, friends or other family can drop off food and other stuff, if needed, outside their door.

So, another day almost in the books. In from work, checking things out, listening to music. My family is well, my wife will be working from home now so that's good. Still seems all so surreal, like the days immediately following 9/11. It was just like, well, different. Everything felt different. Off somehow. Just gotta live it and see where it takes you.

That said, I hope all of you are healthy and well and making the best of what you have, if possible. I'm getting to know my children in ways I never thought possible - by actually being a mentor of sorts, and by being present. Most times I work and I don't get to see as much of them as I'd like. Also starting to realize that my daughter is gonna be one big pain in the ass when she gets older!

I'm well.

Just found out that my 38 year-old daughter and her husband probably both have it.

They got sick last night - all the typical symptoms. Called the local health departmentwho told them yep - that sounds like it but- no tests available for at least two weeks. Were told to just stay home as long as they are managing it.

Very sorry to hear that, Dave. Hopefully they are both well otherwise, no underlying conditions and they can beat this with rest, fluids and such. Fingers crossed!

Thanks - so far they're doing just fine. They are only pissed because they couldn't get a test and have no way of really know if they have the regular flu or the corona and need the 14 days isolation. They will error on the side of caution - but the lack of testing here is sad.

My doctor friend said that NY got a lot more tests today and people are getting tested in bulk.  Every state is different I guess.

Hope they both get better soon. Four people I personally know have it. That scary.
