Just talked to our pool guy - his daughter took a flight last night from NYC (JFK) to Phoenix since her office closed for a month. She got a $69 RT flight and there was only one other person on the plane. She said JFK was a ghost town.

Regardless, whatever comes, I truly believe on the other side of this world pandemic, when it goes away (even if itís for just a while) there will be a transition to a better place for all of society. What that better place will be? WellÖ thatís up to the Universe.

I agree with you. I think things will be better in the end, but there is going to be a lot of pain beforehand. A lot of people will be left in limbo. No job, nor any way to earn money.

I always thought it would be a war that would bring about the transition. History shows this to be the case most of the time. I always knew there was the possibility of a serious pandemic but I never imagined it would be this that is used to transition to the new age. It's fairly ingenious.

They can implement wartime rationing, control movement, and declare curfews all without being at war. They can also jab us with whatever chemicals they please and we will willingly allow it. Next time, there will not even need to be a real virus.

The world being a better place will likely depend on perspective.

Usually I relocate every three years. Damn near growing roots.

Wow! We built our house 31 years ago. We have no desire to move.

...Can't one just wash one's ass out in the shower if it comes to that?

Panicking and hoarding of toilet roll is ridiculous and people with healthy guts should be ashamed of themselves and just buy what they normally would.

Sorry to be graphic but spare a thought for those with Iinflammatory Bowel Disease, IBS, bowel cancer, older people with incontinence etc.

Let's just say things often don't finish with just one sitting.

It seems a stretch to think they'd kill possibly millions of people (worldwide) with the sole aim of allowing the old guard to die a somewhat honourable death. Unless other factors are thrown in like eugenics and the new government powers that can control an entire population like never before. We've all been getting very nationalistic (not that the US has ever needed any help there, haha) lately. This is why I thought world war three was imminent. I prefer the virus option out of the two - especially as I have a greater chance of survival and I don't have the worry of my sons being called up to die.

I never really understood the eugenics angle. The economy is based on population. The more births we have, the more this boosts our economy as it allows us to print so much per year without it affecting the value against the dollar. In our country, we have influxes of immigrants to make up for the lower birth rates we've been getting. It's really strange, but immigrants actually put money into the economy, yet the ignorant believe they are taking from it.

But control... I'll buy that one very easily. I'm already reading reports in the media that say suchlike: Those that ignore Coronavirus threat should be arrested.

This is very scary. This is the police state being put into action. Perhaps there will be benefits afterward, but they can implement this whenever they like. The fear and ignorance of the masses will always override good sense.

Seems to me that if anybody is doing the hoarding of toilet roll it would be those with toilet roll at the forefront of their minds.

Perhaps this new police state will do something about it, like issue warrants to search the homes of anyone with incontinence, or IBS, etc. Fair enough, you need extra... but hoarding 3 years' supply is just not on. Maybe send them to jail for a bit where they will only get one roll a week.

I thought I would use this crazy time to write more since I spend most of my time at home, but no. I can't concentrate at all and my mind keeps wandering and the news is always interrupting my train of thought.

Eh, you'll be fine, I'm sure. Personally, seeing as the kids are now home full time, I shall have zero time to write. Now, what about writing at night, you say? Can't do it. I tried. And like I said, with everything going on I don't think my mind would be in the right place.

But you keep going, Zack! And everyone in the 7WC! More power to ya.

And someone forwarded me this. Do people really call 911 for that I wonder. Or police just want to make sure they donít. Or the reporter is just being funny. But it gives me joy to know someone called 911 for that

My daughter suddenly got a note from school that they have to vacate the premises before Monday. So we went today. And her roommate is crazy sick. She coughs non stop. Possibly she had it before. Either way we got exposed and my daughter wanted her things that were around the house. We had better trash those perhaps

It's bloody nuts. At times like this, we should have the best of the best leading the helm and steering us forward. Instead, we have the worst, most corrupt and incompetent leadership in modern history.

Once the virus has finished it's course, the world is going to go into a recession the likes of which hasn't been seen since the great depression. Plus we've got Brexit of course. Jeez!

So yeah this may result in some good things and much-needed change. But there will be a lot of suffering beforehand and we need to kick the current ejits out and get the right leadership to take the human race forward.

Keep safe everyone and try to keep sane.
