From what I've heard, if you win the Movies Askew film contest (see http://www.moviesaskew.com when it launches) you will be given a major crew roll on the new Clerks.

From what I've heard, anyway.

I can't say that i'm at all interested in being on the set of this movie.  Hell, I can't say that i'm at all interested in the fact this movie is even being made.  I thought CLERKS was enough, now I need to have a recap and a sneak peek into these two lame dicks lives even more?  I don't think so jack!

I'm still trying to see the original Clerks, I started watching Kevin Smith with jay and Bob and than on the commentary and all cut scenes he pimped the rest of his stuff and said you wouldn't get this movie unless you see all of the films well that's when I started buying them backwards

After that I found Dogma than Chasing Amy and I cannot find Clerks or Mallrats to buy around so I hope the places around here sell Clerks X

I think both Mallrats and Clerks have been discontinued. If you can find the 3-pack with Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy you should grab that, cause as far as I know they're not available any other way.

Clerks X the 3 disc special edition is coming out soon and I did see Clerks in a local blockbuster but it's 39.99 and that's a little bit too much of a rip off

I have seen this 3 pack with chasing Amy, Mallrats and Clerks but it's way too much again

Tomorrow's the day. Though I wonder, how can he possibly fill 3 discs with bonus material when the movie was so. . . simple. It's just a day in the life of a couple of clerks. Maybe the pot Jay and Silent Bob were selling was real. That'd make for some interesting behind the scenes footage.

Yeah I already read that, when people talk about something to much and hype it till it dies it ruins the film

Or gives you such high expectations only to be let down in the end, it's usually us the fans (In general) that does it

It happened with the video game Fable and most likely AVP the film

But I don't watch movies for hype, I could care less what others say about them.

If I didnt already have the clerks X DVD, id get the regular clerks for 40 bucks any day, if its a kevin smith movie, there is no such word as 'rip-off'

Clerks 2: the passion of the clerks is most likely gonna be my most anticipated movie.... mmmm, ever. Clerks is my all time favorite movie and i desperatley cant wait for clerks 2. In the clerks X booklet that comes with the DVD, it says Clerks 2 in '05, does that mean it will be filmed in 2005 or released in 2005? or both?

This and any other kevin smith movie, and Southland Tales (although not directed by Smith, has him AND jason lee in it) will be my most anticipated.

FAVORITE MOVIES:
1. Clerks
2. Mallrats
3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
4. Napoleon Dynamite
5. American Beauty
6. Spanglish
pretty much any kevin smith flick or movie with Adam Sandler.

I can wait for Clerks 2 although I do enjoy Kevin's films and his role in Daredevil, for some reason I would much rather see some other movie but the name has escaped me so I'll have to get back on that one

But this will be a great film if done the Kevin Smith way but he may do it more like Jay and Bob because I heard he wants to get that superhero film and they need him to do another big budget flick first... or something

I have Clerks X if that is what you mean. I heard that there will be a second An Evening with Kevin Smith dvd coming out, it's called evening harder and was filmed in Toronto, than there is Mallrats 10th Anniversary all coming this year

I tried to order Mallrats and you can't because Universal put a stop on all Mallrats dvd from being distributed, that's what I was told anyway.

That sounds a little stupid if you ask me because I'd happily buy it now and than buy the 10th anniversary dvd later this year, there loss I guess

I'm happy that Kevin Smith on his dvd's gives the fans of dvd what they want, I don't think any dvd that i've seen yet has come close to the extras he gives. And still nobody takes a hint, people will buy it if you throw a whole crapload of extras that are actually cool on there

I don't really care for there lives either but they arethe average everyday person, bitch about stupid things that only you and the person you talk to care about. Plus it's in color, color, color... I cannot stand films in black and white although I do really like Clerks and some other films that are b&w I can't stand it.

Some of the best films were in black and white, so I don't think it matters whether it's in colour or not, rather if its a quality script.

I didnt say it reflects on the film just that I don't like watching b&w films. I don't watch many b&w films because why go so far into thepast for badly acted films when I can watch Vin Diesel and Will farrell today.

At least the Clerks can act.

I am a Kevin Smith fan and I do own a copy of Jay+Bob Strike Back, but I do think this was his weakest movie. Ive seen Drawing Flies, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Clerks and Mallrats, even the Clerks animated series, but Jay +Bob went too commerical and strayed from his original stuff.

I love Jason Mewes and Kevin working together as Jay + Bob, but I think they need to have smaller roles in their next movie, should they do another one, like in the others. They were so funny when they were'nt the lead roles. Just my opinion!

Agreed, Kevin Smith is a decent film maker. I wonder what he would do with Star Wars, there are rumors that George Lucas might let him direct a few episodes of the upcoming television show. Jay and Silent Bob in space?

Now that would be great but Jay and Silent Bob suck in a pg setting, they could have oneof those flash forwards in the film that has them in space. They have money now, it could happen.

Although the film is about Dante and Randal, Kevin needs to do more comedy films without Jay and Bob eventhough the fans will turn on him again. (Like jersey Girl which is not a terrible movie, Gigli hurt it but it's really quite good)

I enjoy Affleck as an actor, maybe that is why I like the film but nonetheless Kevin writes a good screenplay and gets the most out of his actors/actresses.

Jersey Girl is infact a great movie. I really enjoyed, unfortunately the name "Affleck" damaged it's chances...oh well.

I saw Kevin Smith on stage a few weeks back and he was laughing because he had an idea for a space movie but he kept trying to place Jay and Silent Bob in the movie somehow...he's shaking it off...but it's hard for him.

I have all the time in the world for Kevin Smith.

Hey, joblo.com is reporting that an official website is up for Kevin Smith's sequel to "Clerks."

http://www.clerks2.com/

There's a teaser trailer (with absolutely no actual footage from the yet-to-be-filmed sequel) and a live journal from Smith himself.

As far as my humble opinion goes, while I am very glad that Smith is sticking to the dick and fart gags (I haven't seen "Jersey Girl," and I don't plan on it anytime soon), I am a bit upset that he has chosen "Clerks" as the one to sequelize.  I always liked "Clerks," but I still think it is the weakest and most pretentious of Smith's films (I always found Dante and Randal to be very funny characters, but I still thought they where too mean-spirited and unlikable to carry a movie by themselves).  I would love for there to be a second "Mallrats," but I doubt that is ever going to happen.  Still, I would hope that Brodie would at least make an appearance in this sequel and, either way, it will be nice to see Jay and Silent Bob back on the big screen.

I think Kevin Smith is extremely overrated. The only solid film he's done is Dogma. Clerks was decent. J&SB Strike Back was fun. The rest are crap in my opinion.

This looks like it could be decent though. It's good to see his best characters thrown back into the mix without being lame cameos.

I think the magic of his movies is when Jay and Silent Bob arn't the main focus. I loved Dogma and Clerks for that reason. If he focuses on what shines in satrical humor than, clerks 2 may be a hit.
For a writer/director who bashes so many things in his movies I find it funny how he is always doing sequels. Though they are not "sequels" they are all in the same realm. Except Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back didn't feel quite within the same dramatic world that clerks remained. IN his one attempt to get out of the jay and silent bob universe he failed. Part of the problem was it was too much of a medicore and plain movie for somebody of his cailabor is known to make.
Clerks 2 is funny concept because these characters are still stuck in the same place but Kevin remains stuck with them. I don't think he will ever break out.

Why would he want to? He tried with Jersey Girl which was really good (It gets a bad rap because people hate Ben Affleck and J-Lo) I think those people are shallow and really need to watch films and not judge based upon Gigli.

Kevin can do more but when he tries the hardcores bash him because he doesn't use Jay and Bob and when he does they bash him because he does. It's very hard to please people who don't know what they want.

I say as long as he makes films that are entertaining, I'm a fan.

I haven't seen the first one but I think I'll go and see the second. But I have to say, I'm more interested in the Green Hornet movie, which Kevin Smith wrote a draft for. But I read on News Askew that he is now off the project. D*MN! I was dying to see that movie!!!
