Plot Summary Towards the end of the 20th century, a mysterious challenge went out to all who were deserving. No one knows from where it originated, but its draw was irresistible. The promise of power and riches beyond those attainable by the common man all to go to the survivor. From the depths of the lower earth to the far reaches of the outlands the call escaped no one. Many perished during the mortal street fights that were only a preview of the challenges that were to come. Only 8 remain, those with the true killer instinct, all ready to die, to gain the title of "TEKKEN", "Lord of the Rave War."

Though earth and man are gone, I thought the cube would last forever. I WAS WRONG.
"Cough" Mortal Kombat "Cough" sounds very similar, don't you think?
But I enjoy these types of films, martial arts epics without huge actors (Well big American actors anyway) I love those Jean Claude films where he was a street fighter and there were a few of them. Lionheart, Bloodsport to name a few.
Mortal Kombat was an ambitious film that I enjoyed so for once I will say I'm looking forward to this (Instead of my usual rant about nothing being original.)
I can see it now... By A-List actors they mean re-uniting the 'stars' of 'Alone In The Dark'
'Tekken' starring Stephen Dorff, Christian Slater and Tara Reid... With plent of slo-mo fight scenes and quick cutting to hide the lousy fight choreography and lack of any visible martial arts prowess of the actors...
Boy, I can't wait for this film... Hopefully Uwe Boll will soon be announced director. Bring it on!
They tried to make a Tekken film in Hong Kong before, it turned into The Avenging Fist and was heinously crap. I think there were some rights issues over the use of the name(s) so it's not even recognisable as a Tekken movie now...
I was a big fan of that game but I don't really think I'll see the movie if it comes out. Look at Street fighter, the best they could get for Gyle was Van damme.
I'm waiting for the Halo film that I've heard a lot about recently. I just hope with all these adaptations coming ou they can do their games and comics justice, because a lot of them so far have done that to no avail what so ever.
