I was on IMDB and was looking at the info for Miami Vice, when i pressed the back button my eye caught on "Police Academy 5:Miami Beach" so i clicked it to see if the actors i loved from the films were doing anything new. i clicked on Bubba smith's name first and i saw that a Police Academy film might be out in 2006. im not sure if it is a remake or a sequel, but i can't wait. anyone know anything?

"The Hollywood Reporter says that Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow are teaming up to co-finance the eighth sequel in the popular Police Academy franchise. It's been 10 years since Police Academy: Mission to Moscow was released.

Warners-based Jerry Weintraub is on board to produce, says the trade, and series creator Paul Maslansky is executive producing with Village Roadshow's Bruce Berman.

The project is out to writers, with the exact direction of the newest installment yet to be determined."

This article is from July 8, 2004, so I'm not sure how relevant it is now but this is all I could find.

I have just been looking through films In production, and came across Police Academy up for a 2007 release.

Directed by Hugh Wilson, I looked around this Title on the Site and Looks like it could be a laugh. Steve Guttenberg is back to play Mahoney, Bubba Smith is back to play Hightower.

I used to be a fan of this franchise, but after watching it too much I got sick of it but the new release could actually be good. This is the first I have heard of this Film up for a new release.

Anyways...

This is great.  I just can't get enough of Marion Ramsey screaming, "Don't move, dirtbag!"

There are times I can't tell if Phil is being serious or kidding. This is one of those times. I can't see Phil's online persona kicking back to Police Academy...just seems weird.

I'm also looking forward to Michael Winslow making those really cool cash register sounds.

I've never seen Police Academy. It sounds very dorky and like something that'll turn out like Snakes on a Plane.

I didn't see the moscow police academy, but will probably check out this one. Why? I don't know. But I just find it intriguing that they actually have the nads to put out another freakin' Police Academy movie. I also wouldn't doubt if Guttenberg or Bubba Smith did make an appearance, what else are they gonna do?

"Picture Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd" - George Carlin
"I have to sign before you shoot me?" - Navin Johnson
"It'll take time to restore chaos" - George W. Bush
"Harry, I love you!" - Ben Affleck
"What are you looking at, sugar t*ts?" - The man without a face
"Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death." - Exodus 31:15
"No one ever expects The Spanish Inquisition!" - The Spanish Inquisition
"Matt Damon" - Matt Damon

I hope they aren'tmain characters, they might be a little old to still be as dumb as they were in PA. Enjoyable films but they did sort of play misfits.

Will those characters ever grow up?
