From the creative team that brought you "Band of Brothers,"  The Pacific is centered on the battles in the Pacific Theater during the second World War. Writer Bruce McKenna, who penned several installments of the first miniseries, is the head writer.

According to the The Sun-Herald, The Pacific is to be produced by Steven Spielberg and Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. Production has set up shop in Melbourne and has commenced casting.

Oh yeah they're shooting down under. My god we rock. Our country as a whole is just tops.

And is there anything better than Spielberg's name on a war themed story?

How about Spielberg's name off anything sci-fi?

No, I'm looking forward to this. BoB was incredible, so let's see what they can do with this.
