Here’s the trailer for the next Coen Brothers film “No Country for Old Men.”
Judging by the trailer and the cast (Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson and Javier Bardem) it looks like it might atone for The Lady Killers and Intolerable Cruelty.

The movie's been out for some time now, I think. So it's not really a rumor anymore.

It hasn't come out in Australia yet, so for us Aussies it can still be categorized as an upcoming movie.

Yeah but I mean, there have been reviews out for over a month and the trailer for 6 months. Of course movies have different releases, different places, but you wouldn't do an rumor thread for revolver just because it just opened in the U.S. Think about many Asian movies that don't open until 2-3 years later.

I'm just saying, I don't think you can classify a movie with over 15,000 votes on Imdb as a upcoming movie. Even if it hasn't opened in Australia yet. Or Denmark for that matter.

I can and I did.

I guess the moderator will get the final say.

It's already at number 19 on IMDb's Top 250 list. Of course, you can't put much stock in that list, but it's still pretty impressive. Can't wait to see it.

I typically lock rumor threads a few days after the film has been released, so the discussion can move over to the review board. Until now, I honestly never considered international release dates.

But, that should change since there are plenty of folks around here not from the States. So this thread can stay.

Same. I haven't seen Woody Harrelson in anything for ages.

Hey,

Whether or not this should still be in the rumor section I don't know, but you guys have to see it when it comes out in whatever backwater country you all are from. It's the best movie I've seen this year (American Gangster included).

Australia. Chris Reid and I are from Australia. It might not be as nice as Sheep Island, but I sure like it down here.

NCFOM was originally gonna be released here in January 2008, but they've bumped the release date up to December 26 of this year instead.

I'll be first in line.

Australia, huh? Austalia... hmm... Australia... It rings a bell but nothings poping into my head. I'll have to check my data banks.

Oh! Australia! Australia... Yeah...

Ehh... Might be a little nicer then Sheep Island actually.

How are those bull frogs treating you by the way?

I really wanted to find the clip of your PM, you know they one where he's in the inner tube, but for the life of me, I don't think its on the internets.

Oh that's it Sheepwalker, I'm really angry now and because you've recommended this film I'm definitely not going see it. That'll teach ya.

You know, that's exactly how Australia is. Whenever anyone international asks me what living in Australia is like, I just tell them to go watch that episode of The Simpsons, because it's exactly that. I can't even begin to count how many bootings I've had in my time.

By the way, the frogs are fine. They were elected to office a few weeks ago. Sure, they may be slimey, unintelligent, disease-carrying creatures, but they're better than the Liberals.

I do wish No Country For Old Men would come out here sooner though. It's still about three weeks away, which is way too long to wait for a Coen brothers movie.
