Apparently, the idiots over at MTV are working on a remake for The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the greatest cult movie ever made.

An online petition has seen started at stoptheremake.com.  Please visit and sign it.  You'll sleep better, knowing you did.

I might sleep better, but I know it's not going to do a goddamn thing.

I can only hope it's better than "Shock Treatment".

As bad as Shock Treatment was, this remake is doomed to be worse.  When they brought the Rocky Horror Show back to Broadway, it only lasted a few weeks.  Lightning won't strike twice with this movie.

Are you arguing with me when I'm pretty much agreeing with you?

Wow! This is interesting! I don't think it's a bad thing.

Why can't people re-do something if they liked it, but
they want to do a current version? I don't think it hurts
the original version or anyone else in this pursuit.

It's like me saying, "YOU CAN'T DO ANOTHER GILLIGAN'S ISLAND!"

On the contrary, I'd love to see a new Gilligan's Island-- one where
they still haven't made it off the island.

I think there are certainly two ways of looking at it:

One way, we hate to lose the identity we had with our familiar past.

And the other way, we like to see the past revisited-- even as some of
its old characteristics are changed.

I say to the makers of any remake: More power to you!!!

Sandra

You do realize that this is a website that's pretty much made up of spec script writers, right?

Big smiles Mike!!!

My smileys won't work and I don't know why. They worked before the overhaul... Oh well...

Still, I don't think new ideas (which are still recycled) will ever be buried by new ideas that are based upon repeats.

I've said it before: I think everyone has a story to tell. And even if many of us will die trying, the joy IS in the journey. If it was handed to us on a silver platter, there would be no experience and the "truth within" wouldn't be revealed.

Each of us meet the challenge in different ways and it's wise to consider "The Different Ways".

For example: Some people think THEY have to be their own agents and that can work, but for myself, I want to work with a professional in the marketing side of things.l

I've already spoken to a "future agent" to do the sale's pitch for me because I just feel that I would become so nervous that I would stutter and become a pile of mush, but I would be so happy and willing to have someone who knows me and my desire for the film represent me.

Again, it's different for everyone.

Back to:

Rocky Horror being made anew?

I will go see it.

Sandra

How can they do this!?
I have to sign.

Shoot, I remember going to see the movie. I'm not sure if it still plays here in Ann Arbor at midnight or not, but it was a blast!

People all dressed up, going inside the theater with toilet paper, squirt guns, spray water bottles, newspapers. Interacting with the movie.
It was great!

Where's a freakin' cantalope!

I am hopping mad at Richard O'Brien!!!!!! WTF?!

That's like Spielberg remaking E.T.

NOT COOL! No-one can compare or come close to Tim Curry's portrayal of FF and the rest of the cast were perfect too. What a stupid idea this is.

I'm FUMING!

I think the greatest offense is now their will be another version that will make me want to pull out my circulatory system like a loose string on a wool sweater.

To paraphrase lil' Jimmy "it stinks and I don't like it!"
