I just secured my tickets to see Bronson at the Melbourne International Film Festival. I'm really excited about it because the director Nicolas Winding Refn is going to be a special guest of the festival and I'm a huge fan of the Pusher Trilogy which he also directed. So I reckon he'll probably introduce the film and do a Q&A after it. Here's the trailer:
Pusher II was great, can't really say I was a fan of Pusher I. Still need to watch Pusher III. But in reference to you watching Bronson and meeting Refn, you are one lucky guy! I ordered the DVD of Bronson the other day, still waiting to recieve it. I think it looks amazing. Tom Hardy is a very talented actor.
Yeah, Pusher 2 was my favorite as well. Pusher 3 is probably the least impressive of the three but it's still worth seeing just to round out the series.
The Melbourne Film Festival runs from July 24 - August 7. Refn is also doing a 90 minute live Q&A with the festival director one night but unfortunately I won't be able to attend. But as I said, he'll probably introduce Bronson and hopefully do a Q&A after it.
Turns out I'm going to the Q&A as well. I talked my wife into letting me go. The Q&A with Refn goes for an hour and a half in the lounge area of the cinema from 5.30-7pm and then the movie is on after that. Sweet.
