I have a very very strong feeling this movie's gonna suck ass - but I'm, like, soooo there.
Stallone knows what hardcore action fans want, and I truly think this will be his love letter to us all.
EDIT: The most important thing is that the movie clearly doesn't take itself seriously (from the trailer), and will just cram in as many guns, explosions, one-liners, and cameos as it can. Regardless of it's quality as a "film", it'll be a kickass movie.
Check out the pictures on IMDB. There’s one hilarious image of a very old Sly amid full war cry sprinting along some wooden surface, water at his feet, wisps of smoke partially obscuring him but that motherfu?ker getting through no matter what! That's what the picture is telling me anyway. Quality stuff.
We should all be so lucky to look like that at 62/63 years of age... Old or not, he's not only a picture of health. I'm into body building and all that. I spend 2 hours a day in the gym when allowed to... I love it. But I'll never look like that at his age. He's also one talented individual. Stallone is a brilliant writer, he's a director, a producer... His art work is inspiring. His acting is usually, Judge Dread aside, top notch.
I'm in for this one... And who the hell doesn't wanna see Dolph? C'mon...
I'm all but 100% sure Stallone is only doing this to pay homage to the 80's action flicks of yester year and to bring together some close friends into one project. This, to him, is probably more about the experience of working with these actors than trying to deliver an Oscar worthy picture.
Will it tank? I don't think so... Not with the cast it has. But I doubt it's going to be a huge blockbuster either. Probably 30 million opener... Which will barely pay Stallone's salary.
As for Norris... I'm sure Stallone doesn't get a long with him, Segal or Van Damn from what I gather. I remember he had to break up a fight at his house between Van Damn and Segal once. Said it was like breaking up two prom queens.
Anyways, the big-big picture here is that Stallone is working. He's writing. He's active and he's determined to still remain viable in hollywood. I love that. I love Stallone. I think he's brilliant and the only "tuff" guy, aside from Kurt Russel who really delivers when it comes to drama. These are two guys who make you feel the emotions they are going thru and to have two tough guys like them carry that over is powerful stuff.
Russel's downfall was doing "Death Proof" but hey... Even Harry Hamlin did "SAVE ME". And he played the most prolific role ever in "Clash of The Titans".
P.S. Also, if this gets Sly crackin' on that killer Rambo 5 script I'm all for it. The Arctic Werewolf bit is actually very interesting... More so that they want Rambo to track it. C'mon, that's crazy stuff.
Death Race 2000 is a great, largely unseen but cult Sly film that came out before Rocky sent him, his muscles and that intimiating square jaw into the stratosphere

I'm not sure if you were laughing when you wrote this, Balt. I was sure laughing when I read it.
With the exception of Jet Li, none of these guys are even b-list actors. Statham could be b-list, but he chose to do every crappy action movie that drives down his street. Steve Austin? Since when is he an actor?
He's doing this Dirty Dozen clone because that's all he can do is action. No one wants him to do Shakespeare. Come to think of it, when was the last time he didn't direct himself in a movie?
Jason Statham doesn't suck to you? Randy Couture? Steve Austin? Eric Roberts? Fucking Dolph Lundgren?
Phil's absolutely right, Norris would have put this one over the top!
Statham was great in The Transporter films, Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels ( I liked Revolver too). Couture, Austin and Roberts all bring a serious amount of badassness (not sure thats a word). And Dolph Lundgren? The man played Ivan Drago and He-Man.
And so what if Norris isn't in it? Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis are in it.
Though earth and man are gone, I thought the cube would last forever. I WAS WRONG.

I meant to say Friends rather than actors... Cos' Stathman, Austin, Cotour are anything but actors. Dolph, I find to be a pretty compelling guy. I like watching his work, even if he can't deliver the lines with 100% believability in all of his movies. But I feel he did a bang up job on the Punisher and some of his darker roles, like Minion weren't bad at all. I enjoyed them even.
As for Sly, the guy is awesome. I think he's super under rated and if I could sit and talk and be in constant contact with any one guy in the business for long periods of time; it'd be him. He's done it all and, as I said, his art work is some of the best I've ever seen. It's very inspiring. He is, to me anyways... Check out "Eye See You" that's a damn good movie, man. He has depth.
Stallone is extremely overrated as an actor; he should stick to writing and directing. If he wants to act, he should do comedies. I enjoyed him in Demolition Man and in Oscar (seriously, I did). And I actually liked him in Judge Dredd.
Statham was great in the first Transporter movie. Rourke, I'm just surprised....
But I think it's a little overrated. Usually a film with a lot of hype and with SUCH positivity regardless of the fact it hasn't been released yet, I can only imagine that this will only be a let-down.
I agree. At least let Chuck Norris be in this one. That would send this sh-t through the roof
But I'm eagarly awaiting it. A lot.
What Am I Working On? Currently going back and forth with projects. (--) :
Reason why Rainforests are disappearing is because of all of the useless scripts Hollywood wants everyday.
