After surviving half of The Last Airbender, you couldn't pay me to watch anything with M. Night Shyamalan's long weird name attached it. And I really need money...
Though earth and man are gone, I thought the cube would last forever. I WAS WRONG.
Credits say Night wrote the original story and produced this, so that qualifies as a major influence. Think I'll pass on this one. Ever since I saw Mark Wahlberg running from the wind in The Happening, it's just hard to take M. Night seriously anymore.
I haven't seen The Last Airbender, but I am a big fan of M. Night Shyamalan.
I was, for the first time, disappointed in his last movie, The Happening. I tried to tell myself that it was good, but quite frankly, it was not. As much as I hate to admit it.
How the hell did Signs get above Unbreakable? Anyways, This trailer does look cool. I hope it can deliver. I really think M. night should be directing somebody else's script for a rebound. Not someone else doing his. Not the direction thats bad. Just bad stories lately.
I'm intrigued about this idea, and I'm not a big Shyamalan hater. The Happening wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be (although it wasn't good either) and I haven't seen The Last Airbender yet, so I'll reserve judgment on him for the moment.
As for this movie, I think it looks pretty decent. Hopefully Shyamalan's more limited involvment will be a help. Plus the cast is excellent. Chris Messina is one of my favourite up-and-coming actors.
I can't live the buttoned-down life like you. I want it all. The dizzying highs, the terrifying lows, the creamy middles. Sure, I may offend some of the blue bloods with my cocky stride and musky odors. Oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called "city fathers," who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards and talk about what's to be done with this Homer Simpson?
Look like one of those films with awesome trailers that turn out to be disappointments.
M. Night really isn't a very good filmmaker; his only great movie was The Sixth Sense. I don't know why he's still billed by some sort of genius by Hollywood.
But since he's not either writing or directing this, I'll probably give it a shot. It looks kinda like the same concept as Blackout (which I liked), only with a supernatural spin to it.
