At first, I thought this was a joke but a google search proved me wrong.

This movie is based on the novel of the same name released only 2 years ago. I'm wondering if anybody has actually read it, if they have, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

The story doesn't sound promising but at least the trailer looks badass.

Heard about this last year and, yeah wasn't too sure but the trailer looks okay.

Gotta love the Johnny Cash voice over. Liked that.

edit: Sorry, Mo. I haven't read the novel.

Nah it's all good, Steve. I didn't make the thread to ask if anybody has read the novel, just if they have, I'd like to hear their opinion on it.

I just want to hear what everybody thinks about this movie.

I actually only discovered this a few days ago . Maybe I'd seen it before but never bothered paying attention to it.

I remember seeing the book in a Barnes & Noble when it first came out.  I think I mentioned it during a vampire-rant somewhere around here.  Atleast this looks like they're using vampires as actual monsters.

This author has actually created a nice little niche for himself, and has also penned the novel, "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" (or something like that).

Both have been pretty popular, though neither is particularly high on my list of stuff to read.

Pretty sure they are planning a film for his other novel, too.

Hey, it's my tiny, little IMDb!

Seth Grahame-Smith started a whole new wave of mash ups with his novels.
The zombie one has been in development hell on and off.
I think the last one to drop that project was Natalie Portman.

Lincoln here got the attention of Tim Burton and the director of "Wanted".
Now this guy is writing Beetlejuice 2 and developing TV series.

His next book is an action adventure based on the Kings of the Nativity.
Already in development as a movie as well.

The guy knows how to capitalize on the trend he kickstarted.

Bad idea for dos reasons.

1. Beetlejuice was good times.

2. It could still possibly be "Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian"...

Yeah, not too keen on a ninety minute after luau.
Grahame-Smith has been meeting Keaton a lot in recent weeks.
This would be a legit sequel, all about Keaton.
So, at least they've got that part right, so far.

Can't say this sets my world on fire, but I now have an unlimited movie card and this movie isn't going to watch itself.

Gash.

But not quite as bad as Beetlejuice 2 will be.

Let's not beat around the bush, so to speak....
