Hadn't heard about this one until I checked out IMDb today.

Looks like it'll be going up against White House Down. Can't figure out which one has the most ridiculous plot.

Problem is, this one looks like it takes its ridiculousness WAY too seriously. That said, it's Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) vs. Roland Emmerich (The Day After Tomorrow). In the ridiculous category (and probably the fun, for at least the first half), White House Down is likely to win it.

However, I can all but guarantee we will be talking about awards across the board for both of these films come next January...

What the hell is Morgan Freeman doing in a Greek mythology film?

Seriously, when I first heard the title...
I thought it was a sequel to Wrath of the Titans!

The brothers Warner called, they want their plot back!

Where's Tommy Lee Jones when you need him?
We need someone to declare Gerard Butler's shenanigans is not the work of a cook!

If it's got Morgan Freeman in it, it gets my vote.

It's just a shame that plank of solid Teak, Gerard Butler is in it.

Both this and White House Down were spec scripts that sold last year with almost identical loglines:

Die Hard in the White House.

It just shows that this premise still sells. It looks dumb and full of action so sign me up – it’s just missing Steven Seagal or Bruce Willis.

The "Die Hard in the White House" movie they SHOULD have made was Transfer of Power, a novel by Vince Flynn. Flynn has a great war-on-terror hero Mitch Rapp who would easliy become a franchise-character and "Transfer" was the first book featuring him (it was printed in '99 or 2000, I think)...the guy's an R-rated Jack Bauer.

Then again, I usually get massively disappointed by movies made from books I that I'm a fan of...so maybe it's just as well.

Glad to see Morgan Freeman as President when there's not a giant comet about to crash into Earth...
