Anyone heard of this flick yet? It comes out December sixth and stars Christian Bale, Casey Affleck and Woody Harrelson among some other good cast mates.

Looks pretty promising. Could it be Oscar material? I don't think so but maybe. Christian Bale I think just makes anything pretty decent.

Oh and here's a link:

A bad writer, trying to become decent...

Thank you for all who put up with my work and try and help me improve.

Practice will hopefully pay off for my writing.

Well, if I was in control of the Oscars I would say it looks like Oscar material for sure, but who knows.

It's not about slavery, so it's at a disadvantage already

Jeez, how do all you guys get these scripts (don't have to tell me of course)?

But yeah I'd love it, thank you!

And I'm interested in your opinion: do you think it is better to read a script before or after you see the actual movie?

Well, I don't see the point in paying for a movie if you already know what's going to happen.  That's just me, tho.

Yeah that's true. That's my dilemma too.

The reason you just stated OR would it be more interesting to read the script first and then see how it translated to the screen?

But then again the director co-wrote the script so...

For me, it totally depends how likely I am to see the movie, how likely I am to enjoy it, and when it is coming out.

For example, I got my hands on the script for Prisioners, about three weeks before it was released. As I knew I would definitely be seeing it shortly, I decided not to read it until after I had seen the film.

However, I had no qualms reading a script for a film called Nightcrawlers, as it's still in development (actually, it might have recently started shooting, I can't recall), so it will be a long time until that's released.

PM me your email address as well, Neighbour and I'll send you the link to the script
