The Boards are open again.  Apologies for the temporary shutdown.  

Short answer to the temporary shut is that I received a disturbing anonymous email with sufficient personal information within that gave me cause for concern.  

I spent last night and most of today investigating.  I learned that going through the ISP and law enforcement is a very, very slow process, tho not entirely ineffective and they gave me some good information.  I was able to actually track down the person who sent the email and call him.  Actually, I spoke to his mother.  We agreed that I had not received a credible threat.  

If you are curious how I found the individual,  the ISP would not give me any information about the individual, however he told me how I could go about finding the individual.   I googled the email address, was able to get a name associated with the email address.  Using the individuals IP address, I was able to narrow down the individual's city.  From there it was a search on white  pages for a phone number and a few calls later, I'm talking to his mom.   I'm glad his last name wasn't Smith or Jones.

As to who this person was.  He was a registered, but not active member of the discussion board.  His beef was totally unrelated to any of the activities on the discussion board.  

In short, a clear case of Merlot and the Internet not being a good mix.
