The primary purpose of the SimplyScripts Discussion Board is the discussion of unproduced screenplays. If you are a producer or director lookng for your next project, the works here are available for option, purchase or production only if you receive permission from the author.

This was featured on the home page. Please take a moment to consider writing a review of a good script you've found on the site. The benefit to you, the reviewer, is also exposure for your work and link back to your website/blog/social media. Folks have been offered writing gigs based on reviews written, too.
+*Note: having a script featured on the blog does not guarantee the script will be sold or optioned or picked up. The vast majority of the options comes from being listed on the Unproduced Scripts page. But it probably doesn't hurt...
I don't like selling shorts because it means I can't shoot them myself or turn them into features, but I hadn't thought about this script in years and with it being comedy, I just couldn't see where I would ever miss it. He's doing it for some AT&T thing. We'll see if it goes anywhere.
Do you mind if I ask, how common is it to sell a short and roughly what's the going rate? Sorry I realise that might be rude, feel free not to answer
I think it depends on the script. If you know it's a great one with feature potential, I'd say you would want some substantial amount. If it's something you don't really care about yourself, I would say you should be happy to get anything. In this case, I got less than a thousand, but considering it was only five pages, took only a few hours to write, I wrote it several years ago and I don't really care about it, I see it as all positive.

I think there's some scripts worthy of review just from the Tournament so far. I'll try and do some reviews when it's over. But I might completely forget by then so feel free to remind me.
