The title page says that the script is based on Alex's Garland's unproduced screenplay. Is it a very similar story, or taking it in a different direction?
It's very similar because when I read it the first time, I thought it would be a great adaptation. But I've changed a few minor details like some action sequences, and a moment when the face of Master Chief is revealed.
I'll read Halo 2 first, as that was written first. To this day I have never played a Halo game. I have a Halo Combat evolved game on my shelf, but have never had an Xbox to play it. I first became a fan of this franchise after reading a fan script on another site. Then Halo Legends blew my mind. Halo Knightfall was meh, but Halo Forward Unto Dawn, and Halo Fall of Reach were pretty good. Too much emphasis is made on Masterchief; this franchise can stand on its own 2 feet without him. I wonder what this Speilberg series coming out this year will be like.
